Installed in 12x28 man cave with that is insulated walls and ceiling. Did it by myself. Would have been a little easier with a second set of hands. Temp here in eastern North Carolina is in the upper 90s (96 this afternoon) and it quickly will drop upper 80s inside temp to lower 70s in less than 30 minutes. 96 outside today and getting 64 degree air from the mini-split. Arrived smashed up and the fan motor which was not damaged doesn’t work according to the HVAC company that installed it. You CANNOT contact the company who sold this to us. Complete waste of money. I put in a return request and it was NOT honored before the return window closed. I’m now out all the money including the installation and the time and have a unit that will not work. Have to buy another. Don’t waste your time or money with this unit. The company behind it will not stand behind their product. I’ve owned a lot of window units over the years, and I honestly didn’t think a mini split would make this much of a difference. I was wrong. I live in Florida, where the heat and humidity are relentless. With my old window unit, I had to keep the thermostat set at 69°F just to stay reasonably comfortable, and it still struggled. With this system, I keep it set at 78°F and I’m actually cold. That’s how efficient it is. The biggest difference isn’t just the cooling—it’s the humidity control. This unit pulls so much moisture out of the air that my home feels dramatically cooler and more comfortable. The air feels crisp instead of damp and sticky, and that’s something no window unit I’ve ever owned could accomplish. The system arrived quickly, was well packaged, and the installation was straightforward. Once it was up and running, it exceeded every expectation I had. It’s whisper quiet, cools my entire home evenly, and barely seems to work to maintain the temperature. If you’re on the fence because you’ve always used window units, stop thinking about it. There is absolutely no comparison. This is one of the best purchases I’ve made for my home. It has completely changed the comfort level in my house, and I only wish I had made the switch years ago.
