I preceded use of this product by trying the rustoleum brand spraycan bedliner, suffice to say the product quality and performance was beyond awful.That experience was a complete was a complete disaster, so I had a good comparison point. To begin this product was fresh in the rattle can and mixed relatively easily. The product appears to be under a higher pressure than regular spray paint, so nozzle effort and strength of the spray streak are noticeably higher. These leads to my first observation that due to the higher pressure, and the relative close focused spray pattern, it takes a bit of effort not to deposit too much material, which can lead to a run, and it also makes getting a uniform appearnnce as to the gloss of the final finish. The product would be better served with a nozzle that produced something similar to the fan pattern of a spray guy. That would facilitate getting more even coverage, especially on the final coat. I was coating a part for appearance, so this was more important to me. I managed to get an acceptable result but it was a little too touch and go for my taste. Obviously the spay gun applied method would solve these 2 problems, but I just had a dashboard to cover. The texture is prominent and even, and the finish is much closer to gloss than flat, a true semi-gloss, or semi-matte finish would be nice as an option. The product dries quickly and looks very good with the above caveats. Certainly it was like night and day as regards comparison to the Rustoleum product; this Herculiner allowed me to realize what I had envisioned for the restoration of an old series 3 Land Rover dash pad. I made sure I shook the cans really well and didn’t have any issues with spraying. I used it on the frame and underneath my truck. I removed as much rust as possible and it adhered well and looks good. Time will tell how it holds up. I would recommend this product.

I sprayed the running boards on my truck, I wanted it to be slip resistant and to get rid of the chrome plating from the factory. Likewise with every spray/painting project prep is key. I sanded the running boards down then cleaned with acetone before spraying the herculiner. After spraying I allowed it to fully cure for 48 hours. The media could not be loaded. This stuff is outstanding., first of all, the cans are really tall, and I got a lot out of it, and it covered a lot., it looks just like truck bed lining and sprays on really nice, Shake it really well before you use it. I'm in shake, shake, shake for light, 10 minutes, and then. spray, and it goes exactly where it's supposed to. There is some overspray, so cover the sides where you don't want sprayed on. One thing I did note when you're done, turn it upside down. Spray it out. Then take the little red cap out. Clean it off real good with alcohol. Take. a toothpick and clean out the hole in the can on top and then put the red. spray cap back on for reuse.. Thank. you company. I love it. ... show more

I bought this to spray some aluminum corner trim pieces for a camper I'm building. I've never used a bed liner spray before and am really impressed. Not only is it easy to use, it has a nice looking texture to it, and just the right amount of gloss. It's not a totally flat black, but it's not super glossy either, somewhere in the middle. Easy to apply, the texture is mild. Will need to do more than one coat to get a thick layer on a large surface area. The product will peel if you apply a thin layer and if you dont prep before application. I would recommend but definately needs more than 2 coats so it doesnt peel off.
