  • Ok for what I need but could be better
I was able to get this hooked up and functioning within about 15 minutes on Windows 10 and a Mac laptop. I need this projector to display powerpoint presentations. It does that, but there are features that could be better. There is a small tripod but there is no way to tilt the projector up or down. You have to use the old time honored method of putting a book or something under one leg of the tripod to adjust the tilt. The remote takes two AAA batteries which are not provided. You can use the remote to navigate the menu and select an input but there is apparently no way to advance powerpoint presentation slides using the remote. I had to use the laptop keyboard and mouse to change slides. An HDMI cable is the only cable provided. That worked fine for a Windows laptop. For my Mac laptop I had to use a USB C to HDMI adapter which I fortunately had with me. If your application requires hooking up to DVI, VGA, Displayport, mini-displayport or any other type of connection you will need to buy adapters. The manual is not well translated. That's all I have to say about that. There are options to connect to Android and Apple phones but I do not need that so I didn't try it. There are also apparently bluetooth connection options but in the limited time I had to set up I was unable to find and figure them out. The manual does not cover that part of the set up very well. The projector comes in a cardboard box and that is the only "case" you get. When the cardboard box falls apart from wear and tear you will have to find a backpack or zippered bag to carry it in. I use this indoors with the lights out or dimmed. It works for that. Outdoors would be questionable. Maybe ok at night. The listed price of $59.99 is not unreasonable. If there were a protective case and more cabling options it would be a better deal. ... show more

  • Use a roku or similar for TV streaming
The projector itself is wonderful and has surprisingly sharp image quality. As long as you use something easy like a roku or firestick you won't have any issues. Just don't try to use the built in options for streaming. I spent over 5 hours trying to get it to work and couldn't get it figured out. All in all tho a great choice as long as you use a streaming device and treat this as a screen rather than use its "smart" features. ... show more

  • Far superior to the pricey one I used for presentations.
I see the price point, and I was thinking, "Sure, take a chance." Good call for me! In my business, we used to do presentations with the largest TV we could find, 32" televisions had been about the limit at the time, and projectors would not work due to the insanely high costs. We also had to be engineers to ensure we connected everything we needed to - not difficult, and probably invoked some awe in our abilities to completely put it all together, then take it apart when we had been done... and that took a while! This thing fired up the menu image instantly! I was looking at the menu right on the wall of my office that fast... my pricey projector, which FINALLY became "affordable," (I still have it!) took a long time to warm up and do anything... and goodness help me if I needed to power it down and move it! This thing (with the included tripod) is super light weight, and lit up instantly... impressive! The image on the wall across my office was also brilliant - bot in clarity, and in brightness! I don't often have "need" for projections anymore, because a 55" Television is now portable, and very light weight - however, this can make a very bright image at a lot of different sizes, simply focus it in. Also, this has the built in tripod mount hole... and it comes with a neat little tripod, but I can have that many more options with the selection of tripods I have anyway - so an additional bonus! I would give it more starts if I could, plus the bonus of being able to simply connect it up with HDMI, or USB as need be - oh, on the speakers? I have external speakers anyway, and they have a simple connection for me to connect those as well! I absolutely love it! Five Stars! ... show more

  • Limited but usable.
Included is the projector, tripod stand, power cable, remote and HDMI cable. The projector body is made from plastic. There is a manual focus ring on the top; 3.5mm audio, HDMI, and USB on the left side; and the power on the right side. The remote and tripod stand are made of plastic. I placed the projector about 13 feet from the wall. It was able to produce an image about 9 feet wide by 5 feet tall. I first tried using the HDMI connection and it worked just fine. I used a laptop and selected a 4K video. I then tried to connect via built-in wireless. This connection was not reliable and wasn't able to reproduce a 4K image on the wall. I also connected the projector to my wireless network. None of my devices were able to see it. The photo is from the HDMI connection. The brightness wasn't as intense as I hoped, but viewable. The edges of the image have irregularities (see photo). The resolution wasn't too bad. The pixelation (see photo) wasn't noticeable from my viewing angle. Minimum sharpness was about 3 feet. What I like: - Lightweight - Usable brightness at close projection - Keystone controls for vertical correction - Controls available on projector body in case remote is lost or broken - Consistent focusing across image What I didn't like: - Unusable wireless features - Stiff manual focus - Incomplete and missing information in user manual - Room needs to be dark for long throw imaging. Image easily washed out when a dim light is on. - Stair-stepping and notches visible on image edges - No controls for horizontal keystoning This isn't a projector I would install into a home theater. Also, it may not be powerful enough as a portable presentation projector. With the brightness level and 3 foot minimum focus length, I'm not sure where this projector falls in usability. However, it's not a bad projector at this price point. As of this writing, the projector has a 30% coupon, making it around $70. ... show more
