Our first impression of this pancake maker was not that great. Its physical appearance looks like a machine that was first designed in the 70s, and was never updated. Additionally, the five-minute timer knob gives off a single ding when time is up, but it keeps on turning and ticking even after giving off its single ding. It keeps rotating past zero. However, after using it, it performs quite well and it is very easy to use. Here are my observations: 1. Dutch mini pancake shape. This does not make flat silver dollar pancakes like shown in the product pictures. The shape of the pancake mold is rather convex (rounded) so the pancakes come out rounded. In other words, this is a Dutch mini pancake machine. It is not a silver dollar pancake machine. 2. Heating surface. The surface is solid and thick. It heats up very quickly and stays warm for some time after unplugging it. 3. Non-stick design. The non-stick properties of the cooking area are excellent. I put a little dab of margarine in each pancake mold before dropping in the batter. I don’t have any issues with the pancakes sticking to the surface. They are very easy to flip, and it is easy to clean up after use just by wiping it down in the soft side of a dish sponge. 4. Cooking. I use this at 300 F and it takes about 4 minutes to cook the pancakes. You need to manually flip the pancakes after 2 minutes. The cooking time is quite short for 25 pancakes, so you need to be very quick about putting down the batter and flipping the pancakes before they burn. 5. Misc. tips. If you want to put fruit in the pancake, I suggest dropping the margarine, then a piece of fruit in each mold, then adding the batter last (as opposed to premixing the batter). I use two plastic children’s knives to flip them after about 2 minutes. You can also use the included metal skewer. After 4 minutes, you can just slide the pancakes off in bulk and directly onto a plate with the included silicone spatula. They don’t stick to the cooking surface. 6. Size. This is bulky, solid, and heavy. If you are short on space, keep in mind that this will take up a fair amount of space in your kitchen. On the plus side, it’s not very tall so you can easily stick it on a bottom storage shelf. In summary, this pancake machine has no special features. It performs quite well, and it is very easy to use. The only adjustable setting on this machine is the temperature so this is literally something that anyone can figure out how to use fairly quickly. This machine is designed to make up to 25 mini pancakes at a time. The non stick tip has as many detente to hold your batter. Takes some getting used to as it only cooks from one side and you cannot flip the griddle like some other pancake makers. Sort of a novelty item.

Unboxing this was a nightmare for me. When I was pulling off the plastic and the newspaper, I cut my hand wide open that almost needed stitches. There was a piece of metal on the side corner that looks like it would normally be folded inside of the machine behind another metal piece but for some reason was sticking out and very very sharp. I gave it two stars because I eventually cut off the sharp piece and actually tried to use it and it seemed to work well except the timer was not working properly. Just be careful when you are unboxing/unwrapping and keep an eye out for sharp corners so you don't suffer the same fate as me. ... show more

This is a great cooker for "mini" pancakes, and I do mean MINI. I thought that they cooking area for the pancakes was a little larger when I ordered the product, but when I opened the box the size of the pancake cooking spots are about the size of a 50 cent piece. The grandkids love it though because they can eat each one in one bite. Just put a bunch on a plate with syrup and eat them one at a time. They think it is so funny that they are so small and perfectly made. I am also trying to come up with other ideas for different foods to make with this also. With enough thought you can probably come up with endless ideas for different recipes. This product is different and interesting, but can be practical also. ... show more

I never knew something like this existed. Haha. The machine is easy to set up. Looks a little different. Lol. But, easy to set up and use. Just make your product (for instance, pancake batter). Pour it in and cook it (adjustable temps). Cooks quickly, you can make a large number of things in a short time! Wipes clean. Not sure price as I don't have anything to compare it to. But, great for large gatherings or whatnot. And, fun to use! ... show more
