    • Very good to have on hand when laying luxury vinyl plank flooring
This is not a tool for heavy duty woodworking. It is a small handful of tool that is intended for craft activities. It is not easy to adjust, but it does keep the setting once you finally get it the way you want it. I put down over 500 square feet of spc (stone polymer composite) luxury vinyl plank flooring which is a very hard material. Normally you "tip" a plank into the groove of the previous plank to lock it into place. There are times such as going around door frames when you don't have the room to tip. In that case you need to shave off the lip of the groove of the previous plank, use just a bit of glue, and drop the new plank into place. This little planer was the perfect tool to shave that lip off. The blade comes very close to the edge of the tool and that makes it easy to run the planer along the groove and catch that lip. I set the tool so that it took two passes. That way it was easy to guide and did not have any tendency to catch or gouge. ... show more

I am giving it one star only because there were enough warning reviews and I should have listened!!! I guess I ignored them because I have always been able to figure out a way to overcome inferior tools. I was looking for a small block plane to remove the tongue on a click flooring system. (My regular plane was too big). However there was no way on this item to secure the blade. It relies on two small stamped prongs without a firm locking nut, and it kept slipping, even before I attempted to use it. My utility knife worked fine. Don't waste your money. ... show more

Had to play with it to get it aligned correctly, it came in pieces with no instructions. It works really good on flat level areas. I used it for a door and really works better if you don't do it with door hanging up, need to take it down.

... and you didn't pay much for this piece of junk. Do yourself a favor and spend a bit more money on something you can adjust without it all going out of alignment.

    • It's small and it does it's job if you know how to use it.
This is a tool for leveling out a wooden surface. If you have never used one, look up how to do it before you buy it.

The product does not stay together when the knob is tightened. It has to be done with each pass, much too time consuming.
