I am a stickler for being sure the edge banding on a door or countertop is not oversized compared to the width of the edge. If it is, it can cut you because it is pretty sharp, or the hangover makes it much more likely that the edge banding can be caught on something and then separated from the edge. This edge band cutter is not complex, but it gets the work done. It is a simple device and the cutting blade is reversible. This allows it to last longer before a blade change is needed. This helps a lot because you will go through a lot of blades. Swapping blades out does require a Phillip’s head screwdriver. The blade is sharp and easy to control thanks to the bakelite handle.
