  • Small but Very Sharp Veneer Trimming Tool – Great Value for the Price
Color: Single
I initially thought I was ordering a tool that would remove sharp edges from the corners of a board and slightly round them over. That was my mistake—I should have read the product title and description more carefully. This tool is actually designed to trim excess veneer from the edge of a board to create a clean, perfect 90-degree edge without any overhang. While it doesn’t do what I originally intended to use it for, that’s on me. For its intended purpose, it works very well. It produces a sharp, clean edge and trims veneer easily. The tool itself is pocket-sized, which makes it convenient for small jobs. The blade is extremely sharp and cuts veneer or other soft wood effortlessly to create a precise edge. Another nice feature is that the blade can be flipped over when one side gets dull, allowing you to use the other sharp side. This will definitely come in handy for me since I do woodworking as a hobby, mainly building bee houses each year. At the time of this review, it was selling for about $3, which is an excellent value for a tool like this. If this is the type of tool you need, it’s a great deal. Five stars for what you get at such an amazing price. ... show more

  • Great tool at a great price
Color: Single
This review is for a woodworking mini edge banding trimmer that comes well packaged in a plastic carrying case. At 1.75 x 2.5 inches (4.5 x 6.3 cm) it’s small enough to fit in a pouch or pocket and the case prevents accidental cuts when pulling it out. It is well made and solid, with a reversable blade for a long useful life. It rests well on the surface to be trimmed to make nice straight even cuts. The blade is nice and sharp and cuts a variety of materials besides wood. I make some tables, carts and small stuff for family and this tool will find plenty of use on those projects. Functionality: 5/5 - works as designed Quality: 5/5 - solid construction and sharp blades Usability: 5/5 - versatility makes it useful for a variety of trimming needs Value: 5/5 – great value for $3 Overall: 5/5 - good addition to any workshop Overall, this is a very simple, inexpensive tool that will come in handy when you need to trim veneer. Its small size makes it easy to keep at hand, and it would make a nice gift for a woodworker or as a stocking stuffer. ... show more

  • Does the job with no issue and stores away in almost no space
Color: Single
I normally trim edge banding with a nice sharp wood chisel, but I think that's as much about just loving any excuse to hone my chisels as anything else. This little tool gets the job done with relative mindless ease, you just set on the end of your edging and give it a push, or a pull. The Phillips head screws that hold the blade in place are simple to adjust, but mine came ready to work right out ofvthe box. If and when the small filet cutting edge gets dull it's a pretty simple process to remove it and clamp it down in a vise before dressing it with something like a diamond rod or a conical ceramic sharpening stick. The edges came sharp enough to produce nice clean snag free cuts, and the only fiddlybpart of using it is going back over your starting point to make certain that you leave everything flush. Even with that I still give everything a quick dressing with a quick swipe with my laminate file so those nice sharply trimmed corners don't cause any blood letting. Used for its intended purpose and reasonably maintained, this tool will likely outlive me, so at its currently offered selling price that's a veritable bargain. Simple can be great. ... show more

  • Works great
Color: Single
I used some heat activated banding around a countertop in my camper and I just trimmed it was a utility knife because I didn’t think a banding trimming would make THAT big of a difference. I found that while you can trim with a utility knife it doesn’t do a very good job. It looks and works okay but it’s really hard to keep it flush to the edge and you inevitably end up with raised areas. I saw this knife and at only $3 it’s an incredible deal. So I figured let’s give it a try. And it works exactly as advertised. It cut the spots I missed nice and flush to the counter top and it made the finished product look a lot better. Given the price of this tool, it’s definitely worth getter for your banding project. It’s well made and simple, works great and makes trimming the banding flush quick and easy. ... show more

  • A big performer at a bargain price.
Color: Single
This little edger is big performer. I tried it on a scrap piece of veneer and it cut through it like butter. It is easy to hold and has a body made of a composite material that extremely solid. In fact, the body is what impressed me the most. I wish I knew what it was made of because the edges are precision cut, as you can see if you look closely at the photo. The weight is also twice as heavy as a wood body giving it a heftier, yet more comfortable feel. The cutting blade is reversible and is standard size. A plus is the reusable plastic case to protect the tool when not being used. The price makes it a terrific bargain. I give it 5-stars+++. ... show more

  • Great Little Tool for Woodworking Projects
Color: Single
I got this for my husband who has taken up woodworking as a hobby. At this price it's a great little tool to have. The blade is sharp and well secured and can be flipped if it dulls which adds to the value. My husband says it was intuitive and easy to use and worked well, especially on veneer and plywood, giving his projects a nice finished, professional look. The listing says it comes in a storage box which we did not receive but not a deal breaker. ... show more

  • Pleasantly Surprised
Color: Single
I wasn't sure what to expect not only when I first ordered it, but also when I opened the package and looked at it. The container (if you can call it that) is just a thin/cheap plastic box. Latches closed, but that latch feels like it'll fall off. Luckily, the trimmer itself works like a charm. Got some good, clean cuts of some iron on banding. Historically, I've just used a razor blade or a plane blade, but the results have been mixed. No issues at all with this one. I'm really happy with it. Think I finally found my solution. Only concern is finding eventual replacement blades as I don't think I'll be sharpening this. Definitely suggest this. ... show more
