I purchased this to use for a large amount of brush and tree limbs to burn due to recent wind storms. I had dozen large tree limbs about 4 inch diameter and range in 10 to 25 feet long. Was using a hand saw and a saws-all. I received this small chain saw yesterday. The tool came inside a nice case, and after opening everything that came in case can be stored back in case which I rarely see. The only issue I have with it is even though it came with a manual, I wished the manual was a little more informative. other than that it came with 2 batteries that are 24V, 2 6"chains, 2-4"chains, 6 inch bar, 4 inch bar and a couple tools along with gloves and safety glasses. I am not sure on quality of safety glasses, I used my safety glasses designed to be used with a router. The tool came set up with the 6 inch bar and chain and did not have to adjust out of the box. The batteries only took a couple hours each to fully charge before first use. The battery charger will have a solid red light but when batteries are charged it will change to a solid green light (Not mentioned in the manual). Not sure if any type of grease should be used on the bar since this does not have a oil tank for chain (Also does not mention in the manual). I had no issues with performance when using. I used the tool for about 1 hour and did not change batteries. I am not sure the hardest of the wood I was cutting but I made a lot of cuts. Everything was cut to about 3-4 foot to fit inside a burn barrel. At one time it did smell as if the tool was getting over heated but it was only slightly warm to touch. I did notice on some very small branches that they might get lodged in the saw blade but they are easy to remove. I did do a small torture test with and made as many cuts I could using more force on tool that I would normally use and only had it shut off once but it reset very quickly. So i would diffidently recommend this to anyone for small pruning jobs, to even some medium sized jobs. The trigger and safety are very easy to operate one handed, did not get any fatigue in my hand for squeezing trigger for long period of time. Would be great to take camping, or fishing to clear small path. ... show more

Shortly after I received the chainsaw I attempted to adjust the chain, just to see how that would work. I tried to adjust the wrong round button. Basically, I broke it. I contacted customer service acknowledging what I had done, and asked to get a replacement part for the trigger mechanism. They responded right away, and after verifying my purchase helped in a way I could not have predicted. I'm sure every case is different but this customer could not be more satisfied. Many times we don't think about the customer service as part of the thing we're buying - until you need it. It's a high point here. And the saw works so well you wonder why someone didn't invent this thing sooner; lightweight and powerful enough. ... show more

Initial Review Oct 5, 2022 This is my 4th hand held 6" chain saw in a year. My first "Lopper" by B&W was the best overall. But I gave it to my son for use on his property. I should have purchased another copy. It was a safer saw with spring loaded chain covers on both sides. My only complaint was those two jaws got in the way sometimes. All a child would have to do is pick it up and squeeze the trigger. I can't imagine the horror of what could happen. I actually tossed that one in the trash and bought #3. The third chain saw was almost a duplicate of #2 above but this one had a safety button. Both the safety button and the trigger had to be pressed for the chain to move. Of course some of you are wondering why I would even let a child come near a chain saw. Well I don't. This is all precautionary. The problem with #3 was the chain kept coming off the drive gear. What a pain. I'd get 5 minutes of pruning and 10 minutes of putting the chain back on. I did a little research, mostly Amazon user comments, and selected this one. So far I've done 30 minutes of pruning without the chain coming off. I took the side cover off and there was the answer. This model has a washer on the side of the drive gear. The chain can't come off! Brilliant. These saws go through chains quickly. Fortunately they are available 4 for under $20. The chain has started to nibble at the plastic chain protector. No big deal. I think it only serves to keep the wood chips from flying in my face. I'll keep the cover on. I recommend this saw. ... show more
