So I'm going to be honest. I got this to point at random things like the wall, stuff in the fridge, the cat or girlfriend when she seemed annoyed so I could say well you're 0.3 degrees colder then the last time you yelled at me so you can't be THAT mad , calm down. But then I found an actual use, I do a lot of candle molds for fun side hobby, so I use this to see if the candle is cooled enough to get released from the mold. Before I was just going by touch, well 70 - 74 degrees range feel identical to the touch but can be the difference between part of the wax breaking off or not releasing perfectly resulting in damage or lost detail. Well que this milwaukee temp gun, now I can tell within 0.1 degrees if I need to wait longer or not before removing from the mold. I realize this is not the intended use for this tool, but nevertheless it provides accurate information vital to my candlemaking craft. I always have a cured candle next to my molds to compare the fresh mold to a permanent room temperature one. This temp gun is 100% accurate every time. ... show more

    • Works great but battery door lock was Broken on arrival
I like the function and features. When it arrived new, the door that the 9v battery is in latch was broken. I used a small dab of super glue to keep the door from flapping open and the battery from falling out ever time being used. The hassle of returning is greater than the effort to glue.
