This is a decent unit. Heats up quick and has multiple tips for various projects. I had a small issue. Instead of doing an immediate return I decided to reach out to Toauto first. Sent one email and received a fairly quick response (time difference from their location) and a really fast solution. My other unit was just a soldering iron without temp control and it died on me. Decided to try this one and it performs way better than my other unit. Is it the best station out there... nope. Is it an affordable option that works decent..... yes. Customer service in IMO is where this shines. I feel confident if there's any issues in the future I will be taken care of!!! ... show more

    • Worked great for a month, but great customer service
It worked well and did what I expected of it, but suddenly it gets an error when I turn on, S-E and it stops heating up. I thought it was out of service or repair, but customer service contacted me over Amazon after my review and they offered to send a replacement unit. Great customer service. Besides that, I really like the unit. I don't care for the solder-roll holder so I never attached that one, but otherwise I use this station several times a day. It's quick heating up which is important since I don't have a lot of time during the day. ... show more

    • Nice Little Soldering Station
The only reason that I gave this 4 stars instead of 5, is that the soldering iron is hard wired into the case. If the soldering iron heating element fails, the unit cannot be repaired. Another criticism is that the soldering iron cord is too short. Otherwise, the iron heats up VERY rapidly, and maintains temperature precisely. The dual temperature readout is handy, as electronic component soldering specifications can be listed as either degrees C or F. The standby and sleep modes work very well. They can be reactivated from either mode by simply moving the soldering iron. I don't know about you, but I frequently forget to turn off soldering irons, so this feature is important to me. (It saves power, soldering tips, and heating elements.) Worth the price! ... show more

I picked this based on all the other positive reviews and am happy that I did. The quality is great and I haven't had any issues. I like the adjustable temperature and the stand which provides a safe place to reduce the chance of burns when using with my kids.

I received this soldering station for Christmas and have been using it to rewire a project car. It makes such a difference having a nice easy to use tool like this one compared to the old style soldering iron I had been using. The adjustable temperature is awesome for smaller gauge wire.     • A huge upgrade from a solder iron with no extract temperature
I started doing game console/ general repair in my free time and started with a "cheap" solder iron. After a month or two of light use it no longer can heat up the tip. So, I decided to try this soldering iron from the reviews, and it really is good. It does the job well; it doesn't take too long to heat up the tip and it comes with lead free solder, 5 tips and pilers. It still serves me well and love using it. ... show more

Worth it for a beginner. Not something you can do hours of work with. If you solder once or twice every other month MAX this is good enough. If you need it more often this is useless get something better.

    • Excellent customer service
I bought this soldering station to replace an aging Weller. Received it quickly, it was well packaged, all accessories were there. I assembled the unit and started to use it. It heats very fast to the temperature you set. I give this unit 3 stars because of the design problem (see below) but gave back a star for the very good customer service. Pros: fast heating, lots of accessories, nice looking unit. Customer service was outstanding. I contacted them about the failure I had (see below) and they responded quickly. They sent me a replacement unit which I got two days later. That fast of customer service is a rare thing these days. Cons: I found the tips that come with the unit are very marginal. They lose their outer coating quickly and either have to be re - tinned or thrown away and use a new tip. I finally just bought some higher quality tips. Second con is a big one. The whole tip assembly is held to the part you hold with a plastic nut that screws to a plastic piece on the handle. Not long after I started using the iron I found that if you put too much side pressure on the tip, the threads on the plastic nut will slip a thread and the tip moves sideways and it's now loose. The more I used the unit the worse this problem got. One day I turned on the unit to use it. I waited until the tip was hot then picked up the tip. The plastic nut broke apart, and the plastic piece it threads into broke apart and the 750 degree tip fell on my workbench and rolled toward me. Thankfully I avoided getting burned. I have not opened the replacement unit yet, but I assume that the design has not changed. This should have a steel nut and a steel threaded piece to thread the nut onto. ... show more
