This is a decent unit. Heats up quick and has multiple tips for various projects. I had a small issue. Instead of doing an immediate return I decided to reach out to Toauto first. Sent one email and received a fairly quick response (time difference from their location) and a really fast solution. My other unit was just a soldering iron without temp control and it died on me. Decided to try this one and it performs way better than my other unit. Is it the best station out there... nope. Is it an affordable option that works decent..... yes. Customer service in IMO is where this shines. I feel confident if there's any issues in the future I will be taken care of!!! ... show more

    • Nice Little Soldering Station
The only reason that I gave this 4 stars instead of 5, is that the soldering iron is hard wired into the case. If the soldering iron heating element fails, the unit cannot be repaired. Another criticism is that the soldering iron cord is too short. Otherwise, the iron heats up VERY rapidly, and maintains temperature precisely. The dual temperature readout is handy, as electronic component soldering specifications can be listed as either degrees C or F. The standby and sleep modes work very well. They can be reactivated from either mode by simply moving the soldering iron. I don't know about you, but I frequently forget to turn off soldering irons, so this feature is important to me. (It saves power, soldering tips, and heating elements.) Worth the price! ... show more

I purchased this item because of the reviews and because it has an adjustable temperature. The first one I received was defective. Half of the LEDs in the temperature display did not light up making it difficult to read the temperature. I contacted Amazon and they shipped a new one immediately plus sent an email with instructions on how to send back the defective one. When I got the new one I opened it up immediately to test it. It worked as advertised and all of the LEDs in the display work. I have not soldered anything yet but I think it will perform as expected. ... show more

    • does not show correct temperture
I paid extra $10 to get 90 wat because wanted to weld once a while. test melting there supplied solder using flat end tip supplied with machine. No melting till 310 deg C. baack it off to 305 deg C and got slow melt......?????? Did not get fast melt on flat portion of tip till 345 deg C. loved everything else. CAME TO ME IN 1 (ONE) DAY!!!! WOW!!!!!! I am updating my review. Even though the machine had problems the the company gave me a refund very quickly. Great service, great company to do business with. They will take care of you. Fast shipping, fast problem resolver. This is hard to find these days. ... show more

    • Died after very little use
The first time I used this, the plastic nut holding the tip broke, so I ordered a replacement. Now I'm currently using it for the second time, and it completely died and will not power on.

    • It's a good starter tool. Takes too long to heat up and loses heat too quickly
Worth it for a beginner. Not something you can do hours of work with. If you solder once or twice every other month MAX this is good enough. If you need it more often this is useless get something better.
