  • I recommend this heat gun.
Works well. What more is there to say? It is very good quality, so I do expect it to last.

  • Works extremely well - Excellent tool
While working on a fairly extensive drip irrigation project with 1/4 inch tubing, I already owned a corded 120V heat gun but dragging a long extension cord across my yard became very tedious. This 18V Milwaukee Heat Gun was a life changer dealing with dozens of 1/4 inch tubing connections. It heats up very quickly and within seconds I could soften the tubing enough to make the connections. I used a 5,0AH Milwauker 18V battery and even after making connections for over one hour, the battery indicator had three bars left. The tool is well balanced and not tiring to operate. Just be cautious when setting the tool down and resist the urge to hold it under your arm while working. That metal tip gets HOT. This Milwaukee 18V Heat Gun is a great addition to my growing Milwaukee arsenal and I highly recommend it without hesitation. ... show more

  • Great Heat Gun But You MUST Use High Output Batteries
This is a really great battery powered heat gun. I highly HIGHLY recommend to use the high output or Forge batteries with it as they cut the heating time down tremendously. Using a High Output 6.0 battery, the heat gun gets hot enough to shrink wire shrink-wraps in about 4 seconds. Using a non High Output battery, it takes around 17 seconds. That's a huge difference. This heat gun gets every bit as hot as my corded ones but I do not recommend using it without a high output battery. Highly recommended item- works really well. ... show more

  • Doesn't replace a corded gun for overall heat, great for shrink tubing though.
Well I'm a Milwaukee fanboy and when I find an m12/18 tool that would take the place of a corded or air tool? Count me in! However, this heat gun falls short. Let's start by saying this tool cannot fully replace a corded heat gun; and I'm coming from the perspective of a harbor freight special. First test with the gun was a baby 2.0 battery, and heating a Subaru quarter panel to roll the fender lip. I didn't have much expectation, but that battery died before the panel was warm enough to roll the fender. Next test was with a 5.0 battery to heat a WRX intercooler to turbo coupler. It's hard plastic and does not give any forgiveness when it's cold and you're trying to get it over the turbo. Took 40 seconds or so whereas the corded gun is 10-15. That works for me. While the gun was still hot, I heated the valve cover breather lines and fit them with ease. Battery still showed 4 bars. Final test, main reason I got the gun was for shrink tubing on wire joints. I decided to stick the big 8.0 battery for my vacuum on there and ran a entire stereo harness (16 wires) in about a minute. The kicker of this gun's less hot/air output is that o don't get a lot of heat where I'm not targeting it so I didn't overheat many wires like the corded gun tends to do. I usually solder then shrink one wire at a time with the corded gun, but this one allowed me to do them all at once without melting any shielding. Tl;Dr? This doesn't replace a corded gun, but it's great for heating stiff hoses and great at shrink tubing. I also got the m12 soldering iron and these two make a great combo for doing wiring without dragging out the cords or using butane. ... show more

  • GREAT STUFF !
I own almost all the tools they make. This is great when there is not a outlet plug nearby.

  • Great for removing labels. Be sure to get the nozzles sold seperately.
Besides the normal uses we use these to get labels off packages. You will probably need the nozzle accessories. Milwaukee quality.

  • 50/50. On the fence with this one. Does do what it’s supposed to do. Just not efficiently.
Mainly the only thing I use this for is shrink wrap on wire, or shrink connectors. Works ok for the couple I do. I wouldn’t recommend if intend to use it regularly. You do have to go right ontop of what you’re heating. Also forget it if it’s windy. Does drain batteries. My cheap electric 120v one does work much better. But if I need it out in the driveway I will grab this one. Although lighters do work better I prefer to use this. On the fence about it. ... show more
