  • Works great depending on the size of battery you use with it!
Based on some of the other reviews I read I decided to do a bit of testing on my own. I first used a 1.3ah slim battery with it and observed the heat output and fan speed on both high and low settings. Then I installed the provided 5ah battery and the output was significantly different. The heat output almost doubled and the fan speed was noticeably faster on both the high and low settings. I then used a 9ah battery and the difference was much more subtle, almost undetectable. As for length of use per charge I think those that expected this to be used for lengthy projects like stripping paint or heating vinyl will be disappointed, this isn't meant to replace a corded heat gun for those applications. I think this fits very well in the intermittent use category often associated with heat shrink tubing, sticker pealing, and other short duration applications. ... show more

  • Works great.
Good on battery and puts out plenty of heat for most applications. The corded ones will always be better if you need high heat for longer periods of time, but for tasks like wiring this works great.

  • Works Great
I loved this heat gun, it works perfectly.

  • 17 minute run time on high.
I just ran the heat gun with a brand new 5.0 Ah battery on high and it ran for around 17mins. However after around 12mins it started to fade. Not sure where they are getting 42 minutes run time, unless they are talking about the low setting or with a larger battery. For what I mainly wanted it for it should be fine. I have to defrost my ice maker from time to time and got tired of constantly having to pull out an extension cord for my heat gun. I also do some wire wrapping with the shrink tubing. I do wish it was more like my wired heat gun in that it had a speed and temperature control. This heat gun only has a high and low setting that is it. To me that makes it not very versatile and will have limited uses. ... show more

  • Works great for light duty tasks
Although not as powerful as a corded version, this little guy is definitely worth having on the truck and in the shop. I use it for a lot of light duty applications or when a high voltage power source just isn't available. Just be aware this is NO substitute for a corded heat gun.

  • Faulty
One of the four elements was obviously not heating up like the other three. Reviews state this same issue as well so I'll pass.

  • Great deal
Great deal with the heat gun and 5 amp hour battery. Been using it a little, so far and it’s been great for the dumb experiments and crafts I do.
