It was hard to find a decently priced cushion that didn't have the tailbone cutout (I had tried that type previously and it wasn't for me). I really like this cushion - it's a good thickness and decent size. It does slightly slope towards the front of the chair, which I realized after a few weeks when I couldn't figure out why I kept sliding off the chair. I reversed the cushion and it solved the issue. It does appear to be memory foam, which means it's a bit firm when you initially sit down (and I was at first wondering if I would be sending it back), but it provides great support and comfort. I rated it 4 stars because of the sloping style and that I'd like it to be a few inches wider. ... show more

If you’re looking for contour seat this is not it. It’s not really firm nor is it really soft. I use it because after constantly sitting in the same area on my sofa, the seating area has gone soft and needed a booster

Have aging arthritic hips, and have been having to modify ergonomics in order to manage this condition. Bought one of these pads for my office chair, and it has helped tremendously to reduce discomfort of sitting. Bought another one to move around wherever I need it in the house. These arrive compressed, and manufacturers recommend opening them up and letting them breathe for a day or so before use. Have followed this instruction, and have not experienced unpleasant off-gassing odors of some memory foam products. ... show more

My dad is on hospice care and spends all day sitting in his chair. I bought this for him. He originally had a pressure sore one for wheel chairs but the gel popped and leaked so that's why we replaced it with the one. It is on the smaller side and took some time to rise to the shape it's supposed to have. My dad still complains about his hips but there is improvement since using this pad vs no pad at all. It seems really firm and takes time to sink into the memory foam. He said it's still comfortable but his hip area goes numb after sitting for a while. So far he hasn't gotten any more pressure sores since using this pad. If your using it for extra comfort for here and there office chair I would recommend but if it's for someone that spends all day sitting I feel there is better quality more comfortable options out there.
