The media could not be loaded. This Midea U-Shaped Window AC has been such a lifesaver for my family this summer! It’s so quiet that my kids can sleep peacefully in the next room without being disturbed, and I can finally enjoy a cool night’s sleep without the constant humming of a traditional AC. The cooling is strong and fast—it cools down our living room within minutes, even on hot and humid days. I also love how energy efficient it is. We’ve been running it almost every day, and I can already see that my electric bill is noticeably lower compared to our old unit. That makes a big difference for a family budget! Another huge plus is the smart control. I can turn it on with my phone before I get home, so the house is always comfortable when we walk in. I must admit that I was filled with anticipation about the possibility of an air conditioner that has a window with a U shape, and I have to say that I was astonished by the capabilities of this small device. I am beyond surprised; that is putting it mildly (pun most definitely intended). I was able to perceive right away how quiet it was the moment that I switched it on. In the background, it generates a calm, soft humming noise, which constitutes a substantial advancement over the cacophony that my prior unit produced. The design of this product incorporates a distinctive U-shaped structure that sets it apart from other products. It lets the window close all the way except for a small gap, which keeps out both outside noise and heat. The circulation of the air in my room is not only steady but also energizing, and it cools down quickly. The sophisticated control capabilities are among the characteristics that are the most attractive. I think that the ability to regulate the temperature with my phone is a fantastic feature. I don't have to get up in the middle of the night anymore. Furthermore, it helps me to monitor the quantity of energy that I use, and I have noticed that my expenses are lower this summer. Getting everything prepared and ready to go was an extremely easy process. I don't know how to do a lot of things, but I was able to figure out how to install it on my own in under an hour. Everything seemed to be well constructed and of good quality, and the instructions were simple to follow. The product that I purchased is something with which I am generally very pleased. This air conditioner boasts a modern design, is very energy efficient, and is physically attractive, in addition to performing exceptionally well in metropolitan areas. Went with this choice after the recall and new drain plugs added with packaging. As well as cleaning instructions to prevent mold issues. As a note. Out of the box. It will tell you to replace the old plugs with the new ones for better drainage. There are several extras with the unit. Two plugs on the bottom and a leveler included to make sure its installed correctly. They are easy to replace with pliers, but I was also able to do it with my hands. Only issue I found was if there is a lot of water from rain or just really humid. It was easier to just remove the plug all together as it did build up over a heavy rain. But the new plug itself is a drip type drain that works OK. I just left the plug out to be safe. Can also just remove the core of the new plug as its a permeable material and leave the plug. But it did get some gunk build up from leaves and stuff on the new plug. Unit works well and cools my apartment quickly. No issues with install and was able to do I by myself. The unit is a little heavy and may need two people. But even I with no heavy lifting training could do it easily. Would recommend to put some foam or other insulation along the window mount that goes against/on the window frame before placing the unit. Once the unit is installed, there are two tiny little gaps on the sides between the foam blocks and the unit. If you have concerns about vibrations with the window mount it comes with and the wall. You will feel a bit at full power. But it also depends on the siding you have. My apartment is brick. So it is muffled a little with the noise being low and vibrations on the wall only felt around the contact points. Could be worse for others. All in all I would recommend for ease of install. Drain issue seems to be addressed and fixed. Cools the area quickly for the space it is designed to cover. And instructions for care of unit were clear on how to prevent mold and issues.
