Mine worked straight out of the box, was kinda worried after reading some reviews saying there’s wasn’t fully functional or quit on them after a few weeks of use. However, mine works just fine. I thought this console worked well. It turns out the console is broken. My tv is new and supports HDR10 and Dolby Vision. The console does not however. Whenever I tried to open games or video streaming apps that had support for them, the tv would show a "no input" screen. after 4 hours of various tests and resets. The only thing that gets these games and apps to work is turning them off completely. I wouldn't bother buying from here. Refurbished is taking a chance that you get a broken product. Third party refurbishing is taking a chance and spinning a wheel. It could have come from any of the sources amazon uses. Even if it's just on of the third party it's still a chance you get a broken device. Just put in the extra money for a normal Xbox One X. It will save you the frustration and money. The whole point of getting the One X is to have a better visual experience. There's no point if the visual aspect is borked. (update: the console is failing to connect to online servers. I've had the original Xbox One that came out 6 years ago and been using it without problem. Then it started having software issues, so I decided to upgrade to the Xbox One X. Sure, the new Xbox One Series X is coming out holiday 2020, but at the reduced price for a renewed console, it made it worth it to just buy it and move on. It's great for the price, fixed all my software issues, and actually allowed me to access more video features with my 4k TV. All of that said, the fan is a little loud while playing games, much louder than the original Xbox. I don't know if that's a common issue, but I'll only have to deal with it for a few more months anyway. 4 STARS!!! ... show more

I am primarily a PS4 gamer even though I have a regular Xbox one also. I played PS4 99% of the time while my regular Xbox one collected dust. This Xbox One X is a true game changer. Now I have been playing it while my PS4 is collecting dust. The backward compatible enhanced Games like the old Splinter Cell games looking that good is shocking for games that age. And current games looking and performing better than PS4 and PS Pro third party Games. This was needed to make Sony step up and get better. Playstation is my preferred platform because of their first party Games, but the Xbox One X is going to get all my attention. I will play PS4 for exclusives only, And Xbox One X as my primary for third party and some of their first party Games like Gears, Halo, and Quantum Break. I was playing The shooter from The original Xbox Game name Black. Wow i can not believe they enhanced that old of a game to look that good. It was always my favorite shooter Game of all time. Now I get to play it on The X with it being improved and enhanced for the Xbox One X. I was hoping they would do it for Return To Castle Wolfenstein. I am surprised they didnt for a Game that is still talked about today and is so popular. The power in the X is amazing. Update September 2020. It is still my main console over the ps4 that was my preferred console. I only turn on the ps4 for system updates and see the free Games available through ps+. With the Xbox Series X arriving i will buy that one first over the new PS 5. I always prefer consoles with more power that will run Games better and look better. And the new X will be that for me. ... show more

Imagine this, you pull up to the line in your pre-owned 2018 Dodge Hellcat Redeye ready to drag race and what pulls up next to you? A 1968 Dodge Charger. You sit there and laugh in your new expensive car that is more advanced knowing that you have it in the bag. But when the green light shines green you get smoked because the previous owner messed with the electronics and the car doesn't like going fast and the ol' reliable charger chugs to the finish line before. Welp welcome to the Xbox One X. I have bought this pre-owned Xbox One X expecting a better experience but for cheaper but nothing but sadness has come from it. The download speed is slower than my dead dog, I haven't played an online game with a ping lower than 100 or without rubber-banding all game, save corruptions have become regular to me. I have gone back to my 7 year old original Xbox one and it might sound like a jet engine but it is still faster and all around better than this ponzi scheme of a console. ... show more
