I am a Professional Home, Personal and Catering Chef. I also teach cooking and knife skills. I take all of my kitchen items, tools, utensils, knives, serving items, other accessories, and food products very seriously. When I test and review culinary and other items, I am highly critical and meticulous in evaluating and rating them. My reviews are honest, unbiased…always as objective as possible, and my opinions are always unsponsored and my own. Good is good…bad is bad! This is an exceptionally well-made and highly aesthetic set of nonstick and stainless steel pots and pans that will cover the majority of needs in a home kitchen. The set is made by Meyer...a name that you may not have heard of, but is part of a conglomerate that produces a number of the highest rated brands of culinary cookware on the market....ones that you would definitely know and pine for! This set includes two universal lids that between the two will fit all the pots and pans in the set. The stockpot is stainless steel, while the other pots and pans are nonstick PTFE (Teflon) coated for easy use. The whole set stacks perfectly along with the included pan protectors for easy storage in a kitchen cabinet. The colors of the set really capture an aesthetic appeal for many. The tops of the pots are somewhat curved which greatly assists is spillover while boiling during cooking. The handles on all the cookware are stay-cool (with care, of course). This set is NOT compatible with induction cooktops. A safety note: All Teflon (PTFE) coated cookware must be handled carefully. Never use metal utensils while cooking in these as scratches could occur and that damage can be dangerous for health. Additionally...NEVER heat Teflon-coated cookware on HIGH HEAT. Medium high is as far as you should ever go. When PTFE is heated at temperatures that exceed their design they can offgas toxic chemicals that can be dangerous for your health. Used properly with these safety tips in mind, they are great for cooking! All in all, this is a very well-made and aesthetic set of pots and pans that would be a great addition to a home kitchen...and/or used as a gift for newlyweds, anniversaries and kids going off on their own!     • Absolutely Excellent Cookware but Stick with Accent Series

I have tested and reviewed many cookware sets and when testing any “non-stick” cookware set I test it over a long period with the most extreme tests possible. As always my reviews are prepared after months of testing in order to provide you the information you need to make the best buying decision possible. First, this is the most ingenious cookware set I have found. As with most people, kitchen cabinet space comes at a premium in my home. We like kitchen accessories, tools, cookware, tableware and gadgets. Everything requires space. The brilliant design of this set minimizes the cabinet footprint required for storage. Each piece securely nestles within the next larger piece so when complete it is a perfectly stacked set. One thing to be aware of, the set comes with heavy felt like dividers that protect the nonstick coatings when stacked. DO NOT LOSE THESE. Somehow in the last couple of months we lost one and I’ve had to create my own which is not near as thick as the one included. While there are 4 pots / pans they only require 2 lids as each have inner lips allowing the same lid to be used for multiple pans. Great idea that works great. The shape of the pots is really impressive - due to how it tapers in at the top they greatly reduce the chance of liquids boiling over. In my tests I was able to create scenarios where boil over occurred but I can assure you this won’t happen in real world use. The fry pans are absolutely a joy to cook with - they heat up quickly and cook more evenly than 90% of the cookware I have tested. Using my digital thermometer I was amazed at just how evenly heat is distributed. In testing the nonstick surfaces, they ended up proving to be decent in terms of resisting food sticking. Most foods will not stick though burned sugars and heavily burned rices will stick, this being said I was able to clean both off far easier than with most other nonstick pans. The only pans I have tested that have shown better nonstick capabilities are professional grade copper pans. As will all nonstick pots and pans, care must be taken to not scratch the surface - use only plastic, rubber, wood or silicone cooking utensils and clean with non abrasive tools. Maintaining the integrity of the nonstick surface is key to having any similar set last. Here is one thing to be aware of with the Spark Set, which I tested and am reviewing, while the colors are really lovely they are NOT DISHWASHER SAFE. This tends to make me think the finish is not as durable as the standard, Accent Series, product line. Due to this fact I would recommend that set over the Spark Set. This is an outstanding cookware set. We have used this daily for almost 6 months, I have put it through tests most people would never dream of putting their cookware through but it remains looking as good as the day we received it. While the colors of the Spark Set are cool, go with the Accent Series for ease of cleaning and durability. Awesome product and an outstanding gift. ... show more
