Easy to install. The wires are long enough to do any solder work in the car. Just do not forget to install the blue remote wire. It took me a couple of days to research why sound doesn't go to the speakers. YouTube has a lot of bogus videos about removing some electronic units at the back of the car. I almost did this; Lucky me I found a very old video for a different BMW showing how to connect all the wires. I thought the blue remove wire was for remote control for steering wheels. Anyways... DO NOT FORGET TO CONNECT THE BLUE REMOTE WIRE... life will be easier for you ... show more

Worked perfect on my 2001 X5 radio double din upgrade project. Metra has great support as well. This was supposed to fit my 2004 BMW 325i per Amazon vehicle check but it does not fit.

Amazon says this doesn't fit a 2007 Rabbit, Metra and installing today says otherwise. It is a pain to fish the keyed on hot wire over to the fuse box, but the supplied wire length and fuse tap did the job wonderfully with no permanent wire hacks. I used fuse 42 (12v socket fuse). Pro tip, the top of the fuse is where you want to put the tap, the bottom is constantly hot. ... show more

What was included works great! But there was no signal wire for the two canbus connections or the illumination control signal.

I bought this to install an Apline head unit in my daughter's 2002 Mini Cooper. The night before I installed everything into the car, to save time. I wired up the stereo harness to this radio harness and the PAC SWI_RC steering wheel control harness. The next day I pulled out the OEM radio and unplugged the harness and looked at the pins compared to this and though that I had the wrong radio harness. I even looked at the paperwork that came with the harness and saw that it said it was for 2006+ minis. I was mad, trying to look for the correct harness number, but I kept getting this part number as the correct part. Well, what do you know, those pins looked different, but that plug went right in and worked! I also like that the power lead does plug into this plug and doesn't have to go to the fusebox (for her car). ... show more
