My partner, who has back issues, bought a firm mattress @ 3 years ago and I haven’t slept as well since. But the last 6 months have been awful as I wake up (when I actually do sleep) with sore shoulders and hips. Instead buying a new mattress, I wanted to try a topper first because even with a padded mattress pad under the sheets, the mattress cover felt like cardboard to me. Until now - this has solved the problem for me as I am SO comfortable that I don’t want to get out of bed! AND my non-verbose partner gives it a “fine” rating. Granted, not many people are positioned from the very top of the mattress to the very bottom of the mattress so that isn't near as important as the width of the product. I live alone so I can position the topper in a way that I have full coverage on the side I generally sleep on but if I were to share my bed, the person on the other side would 'fall' off the ledge. And, I'm a person who likes symmetry and evenness in my life so my bed looks odd. But I also don't look at my bed all day every day, so rather than go through the hassle of returning the item, I will just deal with what I consider its defects. ... show more

When I first opened this pad up, I had some serious doubts about it fully expanding. Although it took longer than ones I’ve purchased in the past, it did fully and is super nice and full!!! So make sure you give it a day before you start laying on it if you want to to be the full 3 inches. I’ve purchased variations of mattress pads in the past and this is one of the best ones I’ve owned. And having 3 inches vs 2 or 2.5 does make a big difference so splurge a bit more and go for the 3!!!! ... show more

I purchased a super firm Tempur-pedic mattress a few years back and have been waking up with a sore back ever cents. Because of how much I spent on the mattress I didn’t want to purchase a new one. So a few years ago I bought this topper for a very firm bed I didn’t like , because I didn’t have the money to get a new mattress. Well recently I bought a new bed and mattress. I spent a lot of money on this new plush mattress but realized my body hurt everyday because it lacked support . So I returned that mattress and bought a cheap firm mattress and one of these toppers again. Heaven . My body aches disappeared and I’m sleeping Thru the night again. I’ve recommended these to everyone . One thing I’d make note of is it’s better to not use a protector on these .
