My husband and I have collected art work for years and have always struggled with the ability to light photographs and paintings properly. Some homes offer recessed lighting or track lighting with adjustable lenses to shine the light on the art but the house we are in now, does not have any recessed lighting. I'm not a big fan of picture lights that hang above the artwork because they are either too big and bulky hanging above the art (and are a detraction) or the light spread does not cover the entire art piece from the top down. Enter Method Lights Wireless Picture Light, ML200 Plus. OH MY GOSH!!! I am so glad I found this light on Amazon!!! It is wireless, remote controlled with many different light settings, and a lens that you turn so that the entire piece of art is in the light. It mounts to the ceiling with 2 molly bolts and has a rechargeable battery that holds the charge for a very long time. Very easy to install per the well written instructions. The remote also has 2 timer settings for 3 and 6 hrs. Like having your own nightlight in the room! You can change the light so bring out the cool tones in your art or the warm tones in your art and then you can even save those settings to the remote. Genius!! But remember, the brighter the light on the art, the faster the battery will drain. To charge the unit, you can either slide it off the mounting plate and charge on the ground. Or you can get on a ladder to plug in the charger with an extension cord and let it dangle while charging. I have not charged my light yet. I called the company, Method Light, to ask a question about the product. In talking to their excellent customer service department, I learned that they offer an ML EZ charging cable for an additional charge. The charging cable has a magnet on one end and you attach it to the magnet on the light (the pole extends to 15 feet for easier charging and no ladder. A green light on the light will indicate when the light is charged and you just pull pole to detach. Sounds easy-peesy. I have now ordered one and can't wait for it to arrive. I will leave a separate review for this item after I have used it. Some folks have remarked that this is very pricey for a wireless, remote controlled, battery operated picture light. My feeling is that you pay a lot of money for your artwork. Why wouldn't you spend the money to properly light and showcase it? It's not often that a product these days meets or exceeds your expectations. This ML200 Plus light certainly exceeded mine! I have attached photos of the art piece we have lit The medium is brightly colored silk thread under glass. The first photo is the art unlit. The second photo is the art piece lit with cool tones. The third photo is the art piece lit with warm tones. The fourth photo is the art piece showing the light mounted on the ceiling. The art piece just glows now and comes alive under this light. I would highly recommend this product for all art lovers! Great invention, Method Lights!!! P.S. The art hangs vertically. I could not maneuver the photos to rotate them to the correct orientation for this review. Cock your head to the right 90 degrees for the best visual. LOL! ... show more

    • AMAZING! A truly worthwhile quality product with amazing features!!!
Let me begin by saying I'm a bit compulsive about the way things "ought" to work. I have some art hanging against a brick wall with absolutely no way to bring electricity to a ceiling light. I've tried two wireless, remote control spots with disastrous results (one would dim out within three hours requiring getting out the ladder and replacing the batteries), the second suffered the same fate. Both were too bright requiring my putting some lighting gels over the lens to soften the harsh light. This weekend I got fed up and went back to amazon. I saw the ML200 and was taken aback by the price (considering my other purchases were less than $50). After reading the specs I was VERY interested. 250 hours of light on a rechargeable battery! A dimmer! The ability to control the warmth of the light (without using gels)! Not only that, but they offer an extension wand to recharge the batteries without having to climb on a ladder. Okay, you get the picture, I was impressed. I just installed the light after making a few "personal" alterations (i.e., I sprayed the unit a flat black and in order to extinguish the glare when sitting across from the light, I used a coiled piece of cardboard painted black to go over the front sticking out an inch--just enough to eliminate the glare if you are sitting starring at the light :-) All this said, THIS IS THE SINGLE MOST AMAZING PURCHASE I HAVE MADE THIS YEAR. IT IS QUALITY, QUALITY, QUALITY. IT WORKS EXACTLY AS ADVERTISED (which is rare these days). Oh, and did I mention that I called the company to ask a question...they are not only friendly, but eager to help in any way. I even read on review where a unit that wasn't performing up to expectations, was immediately replaced. If you're looking for a wireless, remote control light...do NOT let the price deter you, like me, you will admit it's worth every penny! ... show more
