Inexpensive but very good quality! This has helped to pinpoint the items I dig up. Neighbors spilled a bucket (about 1000) of screws in their driveway that is gravel. We used a magnet and sight to find most but I got my metal detector and found a lot more but THIS found the rest that were stuck between rocks and I doubt we could have found them all without this! I've used it in the fields around my home and found so much I would have never found with the larger metal detector because it tells you exactly where to dig. I've used it to find items as deep as 8 inches and it's worked perfectly! Definitely recommend this! ... show more

The unit itself works ok. Problem is in 2 weeks put in 2 9v batteries in addition to the original it came with so a total of 3 batteries in 2 weeks. I would not buy again because of this. I ordered a Garret Pro and a WAY better unit and locates way better. If you only want to detect a couple times of year this is ok. If you detect any more than that put the investment into a good one. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I havent had this long but the build quality and materials used seem high quality. The sensor seems to detect well. The sound and vibrations speed up as you get closer to the object. The holster and lanyard are also well built. The sound is too loud but a strip of electrical tape muffles it perfectly. Metal detector pinpointer. Item feels well made with quality materials. Item feels nice in the hand and is comfortable to hold. Pinpointer is powered via a single 9V battery and operated via a single power button. This button turns on/off the pinpointer as well as allows you to switch between modes. There are modes where the pinpointer will play a loud audible tone when sensing an object or will vibrate if the tone is not desired. There is also a built in LED light to help see what may be in a dark hole. Included with the item is a belt loop holster as well as a detachable lanyard. Item is advertised as being waterproof and although not confirmed the item feels like its constructed in a way that would make it waterproof. When detecting an item there is a gauge on the pinpointer showing strength of the signal. As the object gets closer this gauge increases. Great pinpointer for use in combination with a more powerful metal detector or just for fun exploring different areas. ... show more

This Metal Detector prod is rugged, easy to use and pairs well with any metal detector. This prod is more useful when paired with a metal detector, but it is capable of locating metal items by itself. It definitely helps with finding objects that are in soil or underneath debris. The beeping and vibrations help pinpoint said objects quickly. There are a few mode changes on how you want the detection to notify you, by default it's both audio and vibration. It can be changed to either audio only or vibration only. The only thing that I have a gripe with is that it does not have a rechargeable battery. It requires a 9 Volt battery to use, which they at least give you one included. But for the price range, I guess it's not too bad. The media could not be loaded. I saw my first metal detector probably around the age of nine or 10. It was the late 70s and one of our neighbors had one that he was out using in his yard. On and off throughout the years, I have always wanted to have one since then. I finally purchased my first metal detector last year at the age of 51. Although I haven’t had much of a chance to use it yet, I immediately loved it and I am looking forward to many hours of use out of it in the near future. I started out just absolutely destroying my backyard with trying to dig things up and not knowing what I was doing. After experiencing the wrath of my wife, I stepped back and started to read and research to see what other people were doing. Earlier this year, I ordered a small scoop shovel with a built-in shifter off of Amazon to make my digs a bit easier. Now with the use of this pin pointer, I expect to have much more success with much less damage. I love the fact that this is brightly colored. Initially, I almost ordered the black one, but soon realized how easily that would blend in with the dirt and the topsoil and how likely I was to lose it. That prompted me to order the orange one and I’m so glad that I did. It’s thick, sturdy and built to last. You can poke the tip into the ground to mark the spot you are going to dig in without having to worry about breaking the tip off. It also appears to be solid and heavy duty enough to withstand a few accidental drops. It has a vibrate mode, an alarm mode or a combination of the two. I personally like the audible alarm as it is the easiest for me to follow. The instructions are fairly basic and simple, but there’s not a lot to this. They tell you what you need to know to get it turned on and to start using it. I tested this out by burying a bullet casing I found in our backyard earlier this year in one of my wife’s indoor plant pots. I then turned this on and was able to immediately pinpoint the exact location of it and pull the bullet casing out of the dirt. Granted, I only pushed it about 3/4 of an inch below the surface, but again, I didn’t want to do too much damage to my wife’s plant and have her not be a fan of my metal detecting hobby any longer. The instructions also state that this works between 32° and 158°F. Currently in Michigan it is in the mid 20s and the ground is frozen so I’m not able to go outside and try to use this until I get to Florida in a weeks where I will spend my winter. I am so excited to take my metal detecting hobby to the next level. As I stated, I saw my first metal detector around the age of 10 and purchased my first one at the age of 51. I’m sure I will get many hours of enjoyment in my retirement out of my new hobby! This Pin-pointer should provide years of quality service to help me. ... show more
