I maintain my land and house, so I'm climbing trees or up on the roof dozens of times each year. In the past I'd tie myself off with a 2k lb. test rope just to keep from hitting the ground. The clip in system on this is nice, and it holds me and my gear in the harness just fine. I haven't tested the slow deceleration function yet because that only works once, but this will stop you from hitting the ground. Also I keep the slack out of the line so I never fall far enough to activate the declaration mechanism. It's caught me a few times before my climbing lanyard did when I've gaffed out of a tree, so it has passed the initial tests. Hopefully I never have to fully test it. ... show more

Purchased for working on my solar panels. Easy to use, there is a natural rachet when moving up the roof. The diameter of the rope is a nice heavy diameter, so its easy to manipulate. and its easy to grasp and let it slip through your hand. I never fell so I can't weigh in on the arresting aspect. It sure did give me peace of mind to venture where I shouldn't go without a safety. ... show more

This is something that I ordered out of curiosity. The rope is very sturdy and thick, and the hooks seem to be reliable. I have not used it at the moment, but it looks like this can make a difference between life or death.

Using company inspection methods I was trained on, I really can't find any thing wrong with this rope. Quality seems to be good and durable. It's not a bad weight either. Clamps adjust they should. Hooks lock nicely. Seems like a good value.

I ordered this, not with the intention of climbing trees, but for helping me lift a very heavy set of wind chimes. While this was my use case, they did not work out for that job. As for their actual purpose, it seems to be a nice set of rope and gear that I will use if I ever find myself climbing the side of a tree or whatnot, I have no doubt these would help be stay safe. ... show more
