My five year old got this for Christmas. I hid quarters and some other objects for us to find. The detector did not detect the quarters, but it did find many other things. Lots of things were too deep for us to find. I did not expect the detector to detect things so deep. This product is a lot of fun. We can't wait to take it to the beach. I bought this as a gift for my sons 6th birthday. We finally got to use it as all the snow is finally melted in Wisconsin.
