We purchased this metal detector to find a tiny gold-plated Pandora pendant that had broken off somewhere in a 40' radius of thick 6-10" deep grass. PROS: Ease of assembly & function, thorough instructions, 12" coil, overall comfort, included shovel & case CONS: Very cheap headphones, random coil sensitivity, 9-volt battery life The coil is very sensitive to interference & false positives (at all sensitivity settings): we learned to remove all of our jewelry, including wristwatch and pocketed phone, and keep them quite far away from the metal detector. The coil must lierally touch the ground: we found that lifting the sensor even 2" above the grass set off false-positives... presumably from RF interference (even though we were in a remote farm meadow). The Pinpoint ("PP") feature is only useful AFTER the normal search spectrum ("All-Metal") is used: Once there's a positive beep in "AM" mode, switching to "PP" enabled us to close-in on the object. The headphones are junk: Ours lasted all of ten minutes before simply stopping. The onboard speaker, fortunately, was adequate to hear the beeps. Battery life: The unit includes two heavy-duty 9-volt batteries, but their lifespan is rather short. We brought along two extra Alkaline batteries to keep the search going after the original batteries started waning after 45 minutes. After a full hour of scanning the 40' radius and going through trial & error false positives, we DID find the 3/4" X 1/2" pendant deep in the grass with the metal detector. So, overall, it was worth the cost and did the job.

I just moved on to a 1 acre lot that has never been developed, so of course, I was curious, lol. Wherever I'm digging fence posts, I've been using the metal detector, but I haven't found anything yet other than nails and other metallic objects. But that is also a positive because with my dog running around, it's good to know she won't get injured by a nail that eventually may make its way to ground level because of a rainstorm. But I will be taking it with me when I go camping. The detector is lightweight, so no issues there if you have shoulder pain, etc. I do have soreness in my hands, probably CTS, but considering how lightweight the detector is, it's a non-issue. It's also long enough so you don't have to worry about hunching over. It truly can't be easier to use. And the screen is clear, large, and easy to read. I haven't tried it yet with headphones, but that is an option. I did test the detector by putting beer caps on the floor and other objects, and it does detect the type of object. So never having a metal detector before and now I'm 51 years old, dare I say this is cool and I enjoy using it? Let's see what happens on the next camping trip. I still have plenty of posts to dig (3 more sides remain), so I will be using it more, and then I'll work my way towards the inside of the lot. Initially, I tested the area where the garage was being built, so that was my rush to get the detector, and of course, it was shipped and received promptly. Happy searching! And when I find something cool on this lot or camping, I'll update the post.

This thing works but on my first use I noticed it's down falls. It has both pros and cons. First it's pros, it's advantages over my other vlfs is on this device it shows the depth measurement in inches, on other vlfs like all of my other vlfs the depth is shown by a range gage. So that's a plus there, but it is the only plus. Now for the cons, this device has a delay in the detection which is a major downfall. It can literally pass over a target without making a sound because of the delay and beep after you have already passed your target so if you have one of these and it is your only vlf I would recommend to go over your target area at least three to four times with this before advancing due to the delay in the response time of this vlf. I have another vlf which was less expensive than this and it was super fast on the response time and accurate. It just goes to show you that if a detector cost more doesn't necessarily mean that it is better or has a better performance and watch the reviews by honest people who have already purchased these things and look for the pros and cons in each device. It can also help manufacturers to develop better versions of metal detectors.

Today there are so many medal detectors to choose from its easy to get lost and frustrated in the process. Yes normally we all get what we pay for, but there are times when we find a product that is very affordable and quality made. i like to see whats popular and recommended by Amazon. the best choice logo is recommended for starters. I chose this product because the features it has are the same as some of the more expensive brands, plus the reviews i researched on YouTube had me excited to make the purchase. The order came on time and the packaging was very secure i was glad to see they took pride in making sure every small item had its own compartment and safely tied down. The instructions where very clear and in English. It was very easy to essemble and in no time I had it on, set up and ready to explore my backyard by the river. The detector was very comfortable and lightweight, nice and loud volume when turned up. very sensitive and easy to tune for different materials. i buried a silver bar a gold bar and some pocket change. iot found all the items and even had its own unique beep for each metal. I would recommend getting a small wand to go with it for more accurate locating. I am very happy with the detector and feel like i got an amazing deal. i have recommended this to my friends and family so they can start their journey to finding little treasures.
