This is the perfect size for me. I am 5'4 and when put together, which is easy to do, it is at the perfect height for me. It is adjustable if you are taller or shorter. My husband has a more expensive model and I often felt left out while he was using it. I wanted to find items also. We got this on a whim. So glad we did. This is a great little machine and is easy to use. It does require batteries but that is to be expected. Batteries are not provided as stated in description of item. I am still getting used to using and setting the sensitivity. I have been known to find quite a few nails and such. But I was happy to see that this product picks up items as accurately as my husband's more expensive model. This is a great and fun metal detector. Does a good job of finding metal below the surface. For the price, I wasn't expecting it to work very well, but it detected much deeper than I thought. It wasn't hard to put together, but there are no instructions on how to do so. You just kind of have to figure it out, which I did fairly easily.
