This is a very good metal detector! First, I have never used one of these before, but this one does pretty much everything that I could ask for! First, it lets you select what types of metal that you want to search for. All metals, non-iron metals, nickels, dimes quarters, etc. It has a special mode to detect just jewelry type metals. You can save your favorite metal selection in memory. For example, if you tell it to ignore iron metals, it won't indicate things like nails, etc. This is a very cool feature. It is smart enough to discriminate between different metal types. it also has three different beep tones to indicate what type of metal you may be detecting. It has indicators for the approximate depth of the item as well as a number value. The number value sort of tells you what type of metal it is seeing. It has volume controls, etc. Assembly is very easy. the pole just snaps together and has several adjustment locations to lengthen or shorten it as needed. The probe and the display just mount easily with a few thumb screws. The 2 9V batteries that you need are included. Also included is a foldable spade you can use to dig up whatever you find. A convenient case is also included to store everything in when not in use. Oh I almost forgot, a set of headphones is also included in case you are in a public setting and don't want to disturb others with the noise. I tried this out on a few nails in my landscaping border and it found every one of them with pretty good accuracy. Once you find a metal object, you can switch the detector over to Pin pointer mode to narrow down exactly where the item is located so you can minimize digging. You can adjust the sensitivity to eliminate any external noise sources that you might encounter. I can't wait to take this thing out and do some exploring. I can't imaging needing any more features. The probe is waterproof so it should work well at the beach too! It is relatively light weight and should be comfortable for hours of use. Recommended!

Awesome metal detector for this price range. I’ve taken it out on the farm about 6 or 7 times now with no negative things to say about it at all. Do not play around and use this indoors, too much interference. Don’t play around to see how it works, be prepared, watch where you’re using it, use as instructed and it will serve you well. I’ve had several metal detectors over the years and this one does the job for sure. I am very happy with the accuracy and especially the pinpoint function, used in an X pattern to pinpoint works very good, just take your time with it. I found several old horseshoes, brass buttons, pennies, dimes and quarters all about 6-8” deep while the depth finder registered 8”. Using the pinpoint function after locating something, I was able to make one hole in most cases to find what I was detecting. Accuracy and depth was very nice if you know how to use a detector and discern from stray readings, junk, interference and good stuff. Again, take your time, don’t be in a hurry, be patient and learn how to use it. The on board speaker is loud enough that you done need the headphones at all unless you don’t want to disturb others in the area.

I've owned several metal detectors in my lifetime and this seems to be on the cheaper end. Comes as a kit which is nice but doesn't seem very well built. Tested it on several metal objects and it was hit or miss.

This actually had more bells and whistles than I was expecting, which is amazing. The ability to narrow down the type of metal is great, it avoids digging just to find a rusty nail or old screw. I went out with the grandkids and they thought they were digging for buried gold-it was quite the treasure hunt and they were thrilled to find some small change and other oddities. It seems quite sensitive and it was easy to pinpoint where things were buried. I also love that it is waterproof-we are planning an adventure to the beach next week and hoping to find treasures there!

The media could not be loaded. My mom has wanted a metal detector for ages, and this one has been great for her so far! I’m not an expert since this is our first one, but it was accurate every test we tried with different metal objects and functioned perfectly. It was easy to put together and it comes with a nice little bag for the shovel and headset, plus a full-size storage bag that fits the entire detector, which makes storing and carrying it super convenient. Both my mom and I really like the extra support band; it definitely helps make longer sessions more comfortable. I can’t fully speak to the long-term quality yet, but based on our early experience, it seems like a good buy and worth the money. Time will tell, but so far we’re happy!
