I make press on nail sets as a hobby and side hustle, and needed a good, adjustable lamp for my work area. I like that it’s not bulky and it has a clamp so I can use as much table space as possible for all my supplies. I read the reviews that mentioned the power switch being located on the cord, so I went ahead and ordered some led bulbs that can be controlled via my phone or remote control so the cord can hide behind my desk, while still easily turning on and off (plus I can control the warmth and brightness too!) It’s a really sturdy lamp for the price. I couldn’t find anything this affordable and hefty in my local mass retail shops, and the clamp option completely sold me. If you don’t have an edge on your desk for the clamp, I’d look for something else because the base isn’t quite as stable. ... show more

Generally, nice lamp. I use it with small golfball-sized LED bulbs of low power (20 watt equivalent) so the place looks like a home and not an operating theater. However ... * the base isn't really heavy enough - if the arm is extended the balance of the whole thing gets a bit dicey * the bottom of the base is just hard plastic and could be a bit rough on the finish of whatever furniture it's sitting on * the power cord is absurdly short - about 4 feet - and the inline switch is annoying to use, since the area near the base has to be accessible - not a problem with articulated lights when their power switches are up on the lamp itself, since that end is more easily accessible * while I'm a big fan of grounded appliances in general, it seems a bit grandiose here. You'll need a 3-prong outlet. * the articulated arms are very short, much shorter than usual on this type of lamp - whether that's a bug or a feature depends on your application. Note that if the lamp is just stuck in the base it will flop around a lot. The trick is to push it in all the way. The photos here do NOT show it correctly - push it in further, and things will work a lot better. ... show more

    • Direct the Light Where It's Needed

Light allows you to direct light where it's needed w/o have to move the entire lamp. Works well on my computer desk as it provides light on the desk top when needed and can easily be tipped up and swung around to provide indirect lighting when using the computer. I would prefer the switch be on the fixture vs. inline as normally the cord would slide behind the desk, but with it inline there is about 12" of cord that lies on the desk. Lamp appears to be well made; however, the clamp designed to be use instead of the base does not work well and is not strong enough to hold the lamp, especially if you adjust the lamp's position frequently - nice option if lamp will be attached to a shelf vs. a desk or table, but needs to be more substantial to work properly. ... show more
