  • Hey, it works!
Size: MK-A7IV Pro
For the money, this cannot be matched. the price of the Sony grip is...obscene. The grip seems well made and even matches the texture feel of my Sony A7RIV. The only difference is the switch that powers off the unit. It's not a lockout function like the Sony...but so what. When you start...you turn it on. When you are done shooting...you turn it off. I can't think of any reason to spend more on the Sony version. I love this thing! ... show more

  • Well worth the HUGE savings!
Size: ZN-A7RIV
Not as good a fit as the Sony but literally less than 1/4 the price! So far, it works perfect with the Sony Z and RAVPower Savior series (RP-BC018) batts. If you're super OCD, the slight difference in color and fit may bother you. Other than that it performs like a champ! No complaints so far.

  • Dead on Arrival
Size: MK-A7IV Pro
I've owned another one of the Meike battery grips for an earlier version of the Sony Alpha 7 camera. It was considerably cheaper feeling than the Sony version, but workable. Batteries were a bit loose-fit but worked OK, so I gave this one a try for the A7R IV. It was dead on arrival -- verified fully charged batteries that work in the camera body, and tried many combinations of the 6 charged batteries that I have, nothing worked to get the battery grip to supply power to the camera. Aside from not working, this version of the Meike feels quite a bit less sturdy/quality than even the Meike that I was using for the earlier Sony A7 camera. The on/off switch seems *really* flimsy and almost a bit loose. The option buttons feel quite cheap, and the navigation joystick is also cheap feeling, and seems a bit like it is mounted a bit off-center. The battery sockets were also fairly loose. Overall, I'd say avoid, if you can get a working version. I'm personally not opposed to using a cheaper feeling alternative for this kind of functionality, but the quality seems much lower than it was in the past for very similar equipment by the same company. ... show more

  • Does Not Work With The A7IV
Size: MK-A7IV Pro
If this did work with my camera, I'm sure I would have loved it. The build quality is pretty close to Sony's. Every time I tried to use this, it gave me an incompatibility battery error and I couldn't use even get into the menu system. After I went to Meike's website, I noticed it didn't list the A7IV. ... show more

  • Works perfectly with A7rIV
Size: MK-A7IV Pro
I see no reason to buy OEM in this case. The grip works perfectly with the A7rIV and costs hundreds less. The remote works fine as well. I do not removing the battery door of my camera to install it, but that is the case with the OEM grip so that is not a negative for this product.

  • Changing my review
Size: MK-A7IV Pro
The media could not be loaded. I just purchased an A7Rv and I plugged it in and it works great. The A7IV and A7Rv have the exact same body size. ALTHOUGH what you see on the video recently happened to my A7RV camera. After to removed it, it stopped doing that. I don’t know if it’s a power issue bc the batteries are in the grip. But it happened to my A7IV a few months ago. I had to go get it sent in to see why it was doing that. ... show more

  • Might be better than Sony!
Size: MK-A7IV Pro
I was unsure about this product almost spent the extra money on the Sony, I am glad I didn’t. This thing has been rock solid! Nice feel, very responsive, overall the quality is great! 10/10 would recommend!

  • On/off switch is annoying
Size: ZN-A7RIV
Where most third party grips have a lock feature to lock the buttons on the grip this one has another on/off switch that over rides the camera body. It is very annoying and is easily bumped which will turn off the camera. You will also often hit buttons on the grip inadvertently because of the lack of a lock feature. Very poor design. Battery compartment Feels less sturdy than other third party grips. ... show more
