For the money, this cannot be matched. the price of the Sony grip is...obscene. The grip seems well made and even matches the texture feel of my Sony A7RIV. The only difference is the switch that powers off the unit. It's not a lockout function like the Sony...but so what. When you start...you turn it on. When you are done shooting...you turn it off. I can't think of any reason to spend more on the Sony version. I love this thing!

Not as good a fit as the Sony but literally less than 1/4 the price! So far, it works perfect with the Sony Z and RAVPower Savior series (RP-BC018) batts. If you're super OCD, the slight difference in color and fit may bother you. Other than that it performs like a champ! No complaints so far.

This product is an absolute disaster. I had a completely different experience years ago when I bought a Meike battery grip for my Nikon D7000. That one was solidly built, robust, and has worked flawlessly to this day without a single issue. Based on that past positive experience, I bought this grip for my Sony A7 IV. I was utterly disappointed to find that the quality is nowhere near the same. The construction feels cheap, using low-grade plastic. The battery door latch, in particular, is made of very flimsy plastic and feels like it would break after just 5 or 6 uses. But that wasn't even the main issue. When I attached it to my camera, it didn't fit properly, leaving a visible gap between the grip and the camera body. To make matters worse, it simply DID NOT WORK. I tested it with six different, fully charged batteries (100%), and it failed to power the camera every single time. This is a massive letdown. I have already started the return process. I strongly advise against purchasing this grip.

So I was tempted on buying the oem battery case; but I decided 400 dollars after tax was not worth it; Trying this one out was easy and the buttons work; its not professional like original camera buttons but they work 100%; batteries as long as original sony batteries will show percentage for both battery 1 and 2. Also for Apple users you can stick an AirTag inside the battery grip instead of inserting the battery door that it tells you to insert. AirTag fits well and doesn't affect the battery grip in anyway. Now if by some chance someone steals my camera it will at least give me a trying chance on getting it back

Have not used the remote yet. But the one thing to remember with this is that the vertical grip switch has to be “ON” not just the camera on off switch!!! MEIKE why??? Fix this!!!

I see no reason to buy OEM in this case. The grip works perfectly with the A7rIV and costs hundreds less. The remote works fine as well. I do not removing the battery door of my camera to install it, but that is the case with the OEM grip so that is not a negative for this product.

Fits the new Sony A7IV very well and camera texture mathches grip. They both look like they are OEM together. If there is one thing wrong is there isn't a charging plug on grip. On a good note with all the money saved you can buy an external charger!!!

Where most third party grips have a lock feature to lock the buttons on the grip this one has another on/off switch that over rides the camera body. It is very annoying and is easily bumped which will turn off the camera. You will also often hit buttons on the grip inadvertently because of the lack of a lock feature. Very poor design. Battery compartment Feels less sturdy than other third party grips.
