I bought this because I recently had several surgeries and after a fall out of bed, I felt I needed a little more protection. It's a little bit of a hassle to install if you have a hospital bed as I do, but as I said, sort of a necessity. I was pretty happy with it until I raised the head of the bed and the strap that holds the bar in snapped. Bought this for my dad, he was having problems getting out of bed, he's over 300lbs and in his 70s. He said the instructions were less than enlightening, but he got it together and it's a 'god-send'! We got this for my elderly father who had been falling while getting in and out of bed. It’s made a huge difference and gives him both the support and peace of mind to get in and out of bed. It was super easy to install but does go under the mattress so you may need an extra hand to install it.

    • It’s decent if you secure it the right way …
This is decently made … serves the purpose if you secure it tight using the included strap . One thing you should know … if you buy this , make sure whoever is for , still has some decent use of his /her legs and hands because otherwise if you have to actually bend over to help the sick person to move in the right position on the bed , this thing is in the way obstructing your access to the person in need for help . So the sick person has to be able to grab the handle and move the whole body to pass the whole set up to be able to get in or out of the bed . ... show more
