I needed a pump to pump out my in-ground pool. I also purchased the WAYNE 66000-WYN1 1-1/2 in. by 24 ft. Sump Discharge Hose Kit, and the Superior Pump 99555 Universal Check Valve to keep the water in the hose from running back into the pool once the pump stopped. This combination worked great to empty my pool in about 6 hours. The flow rate is based on the pump being the same level as the hose, but my hose was 7 feet higher so the rate was less. I've used the pump twice to pump out the pool, the first time there was a lot of sand and dirt in the bottom and the pump picked this up very well. I used the provided shorter screen to get the most water out. The pump is very quiet and well worth the money!

This came a day early maybe 2 days I ordered yesterday when my pump broke. It was for draining water out of my pool cover. I was a little worried about this one because no other reviewers mentioned pool cover. If you dont mind standing there while it drains to keep it from falling over it works awesome. Maybe not as fast as described but awesome nonetheless. Only 4 stars because I can't judge longevity yet, I only just got it and used it once. Most pool cover pumps cost $100+. So either way 50 and change was worth it.

I just received this pump today. Its primary use is to drain my large hot tub. I live in a cold climate, so emptying my hot tub can be quite a chore. This worked great! I got down to a couple inches of water left in the hot tub and turned off on its own. My recommendations are to order the sump pump hose that will work with this pump. The only challenge was getting the hose that would work for this pump. I ended up buying it at Home Depot a 25 foot hose with adapters for $12. I would recommend this pump for anyone who needs to move water in a hurry. The key to get the most volume is to use the largest diameter hose you can. I bought the largest pump. This is something I would certainly buy again. It’s easy to use and very efficient

I purchased this pump for my pond cleaning project. It can drain water with sand and debris without any issue. Very powerful. I used a 25 feet Lay Flat discharge Hose. Great value for the money!

I bought this to help me drain my pool. It didn't handle the sludge as well as hoped but it really moves water. You must prime it first as with most pumps. I didn't have a lot of water left when I got this and plugged it in and no water movement. So I filled a bucket and held it in the bucket at obtuse angle to try and get it to prime. It took about 20 seconds to prime and start moving water. I then moved it to my puddle and it held prime and kept pumping. It actually pumped faster than I could add water with a hose to try and get the sludge. We got down to mostly just sludge and switched to a shovel and bucket.

Our pipes burst under the house and I needed to drain several pools of water before they created more problems. I researched and found this pump which is rated for dirty water (which is what I had). Ordered it (along with hose, since it doesn't come with one). This pump has a float that hooks into a bracket on one of the handles, when the float is hooked into the bracket it is in manual mode and must be started and shut off manually (this is the mode I use), when the float is free from the bracket it is in the automatic mode which requires water to the top of the pump before it kicks on (my water was too shallow to use in this mode). To test it I filled our bathtub then emptied using the pump, I didn't time it but I was quite pleased with how well the pump performed. I did notice that I would have to tip the pump a bit to "burp" the air a couple of times to get it to start pumping. Bottom line: easy to use and it works. Would I buy again? Yes. Would I recommend? Yes.
