This recliner/swivel chair replaces what my bride called “the beast.” It “was” a big recliner that overpowered the rest of our furniture. After considerable procrastination, I decided to “go for it” and purchase this model/color. It arrived in 3 days. Assembly took just over 2 hours. Assembly instructions need serious refining! The photos were simply inadequate. As one who has put together lots of things (furniture,, toys, etc.) this unit provided several head scratching moments. With most “some assembly required” products, there’s some parts that MUST be installed prior to the next step. Those type instructions were missing for this chair. BUT, once assembled, we’re IMPRESSED with the chair. It’s comfy, attractive, works as advertised and does NOT overpower our other furniture pieces. ... show more

    • Less than what I was expecting.
This is a serviceable chair, but lacked the kind of quality I was expecting for the money. Shortly upon opening the boxes, I noticed the frame of the chair was bent, making assembly a full on nightmare. Add to that the truly horrible instructions and the useless Allen wrench and even more useless crescent wrench (use your own tools, if you can) included for assembly, and my chair and I got off to a very bad start. Now that it's assembled and been in use for about a week, I think I can fairly assess its overall value and quality. I went with the chenille for the simple reason that leather is only good quality at a much higher price point. So to avoid the annoyance of cracked and faded leather (plus I don't find leather all that comfortable particularly in winter, when it's cold to the touch), chenille -- a fabric I like for its comfort, wear, and feel -- worked for me. I chose grey, which may have been a mistake with the dark brown wooden frame. The swivel is a bit rough, as the ball bearings feel as if they need oil. The reclining mechanism is pretty poor, with so-called "micro-adjustment knobs" can best be described as useless. (That may be because the frame is bent, it's difficult to say.) All in all, a disappointment. I should have listened to myself and gone to an actual furniture store. I might have paid more, but it would have been worth it for the quality. ... show more

Not comfortable and out of proportion. Footstool is shorter than seat of chair. Looks odd from front view.. Back looks full and thick but seat looks thin and skimpy proportionately. And how do you return a chair that is fully assembled? Think twice before ordering this. 5 months later-- chair makes a grating noise when you swivel. Have to keep redoing screws...fall out.     • Makes for an awesome desk chair!
Believe it or not I bought this to use as my office chair. I sometimes spend 10~12 hours sitting at my desk (unhealthy, I know, but unavoidable due to spinal issues)... gaming chairs are too firm and they're too high for me to use padded cushions. This thing solved both of those issues. You can adjust the tension for reclining using the very simple mechanism the chair offers, and assembly was quick and easy if you take a moment to think about how things work.     • Comfort? Yes Swivel? Not really.
I Originally bought this as i liked the idea of having a chair with an ottoman that reclined and swiveled, unfortunately, the swivel is just a plastic ring/track that sits on the floor. While assemblying the chair, i turned the chair to get to the other arm rest and in doing so, the plastic ring broke and came of the chair. Though it is worth pointing out that upon closer inspection of the ring, it may have been partially damage in shipment, and then once even a little weight was applied it completely snaped, as before i started to assemble it, i had turned it around a few times without issue. But I found it was easy to just lightly hit loose the peices on bottom of chair that the ring went through, could then be wiggled off and then I just put furniture sliders on the bottom of the chair and it working out just fine. It's very comfortable, to where it's possible I may fall asleep watching TV. ... show more
