  • My Game Changer.
After a frustrating journey with four different Neewer Z8 grips that all had issues, this one is an absolute game-changer. The build quality is superb, it fits the camera perfectly with no gaps, and every button and dial functions exactly as it should. The extended battery life and reliable hot-swap feature for long shoots are fantastic, providing peace of mind I just couldn't get with the others. It has truly elevated my shooting experience ... show more

  • Looks the part but didn’t hold up.
Was great while it worked. Then it didn’t. I used this for a solid week of shooting and by about day 4, the camera would not power with the pack attached. Tried to swap a/b slotted batteries on the chance that was the issue: no luck even with Nikon branded batteries. Fortunately I kept the battery door in my kit and removed this grip to continue the shooting. Functional: yes. Will I buy another either of this? No. ... show more

  • Caution
One of the better (best) 3rd party vertical grips I've bought. The battery is a little sticky, i just removed and replaced it several times and it loosened up on it's own and now it's fine, Love this item. Update.. I returned this item. It worked great until it didn't, I started getting 1/3 the shoot time using two batteries than I did using one in camera. ... show more

  • Fits my Nikon Perfectly
This was the perfect battery to add onto my Nikon to make it a full fledged photo journalism camera. Easily I'm able to tilt my camera sideways and start taking pictures from that angle while at the same time not losing any functionality from not having the buttons. The battery life is phenomenal too and m easily able to shoot all day without having i change or my battery or run back to my car for more. The grip is very comfortable too and easily fits into my hand without being overly clunky or hard to use. It's very easy to install into the camera too without getting jammed or stuck on anything. Overall this is a very variable piece of photo gear and has definitely made a huge impact into my daily life. Highly recommended! ... show more

  • Very close to Nikon's original MB-N12 but for half the price.
Ok, it might not be fully up to the quality level of an original Nikon MB-N12 battery pack for Nikon's Z8 mirrorless camera but it's pretty close. It doesn't feel quite the same but all the functions and controls are the same as on Nikon's MB-N12 which makes it an attractive alternative, especially because of the price. It's only $168.99 compared to Nikon's $346.95 OEM price. If you do your due diligence, you will be able to find similar battery packs to this one for even less. In the $89-$99 price range. ... show more

  • Works with my Z8 but not truly compatible mounting
This works well with my Z8. My camera powers on and off with no issues. The two batteries keeps me shooting longer. The bottom battery cartridge slides in and out pretty easily with no batteries. It is a little challenging to slide it out with batteries installed. Not impossible, just more difficult than it should be if you need a quick change during a shoot. The device is light weight, which can be both a plus and a negative. The camera is relatively heavy to begin with, so the light weight is appreciated. Not sure how durable this is, but I am always careful with my camera, so drops are not an issue. There is a switch you need to turn on if you want to use all the function and this wasn’t evident when I skimmed through the manual. At first I thought there was something wrong with the device but once I found it, everything worked great. The main negative I have over the device is the key pin hole in the bottom of the mounting surface is not aligned with the Z8 (hole is closer to the mounting screw hole than it should be). This means that I cannot use my Smallrig mounting bracket when I use the device since the pin of the Smallrig bracket is correctly placed to work with a Z8. This is a problem for me since my tripod mounting and camera strap mounts all revolve around the Smallrig mounting bracket. I am not going to change my workflow for one incorrectly configured device. This leaves very few situations where I can use the device and it is not worth carrying around just in case I may want to use it. Decent product, but not truly compatible with the Z8 since the bottom hole is nice properly placed. ... show more

Excellent battery life. Perfect fit. Feels great in the hand. Nonslip. Made well with quality materials. It is a full five star product, no questions asked.
