For starters, this seat was extremely easy to install. Who knew what a difference a toilet seat could make? The slow close feature is so awesome, I don't see how I ever went without it. Definitely make sure to have the toilet seat centered before tightening it down. It was easy to install and only needed to adjust it once to get it centered on the bowl but it’s still not perfectly centered. I tried adjusting it a couple times and got it close enough. One of the plastic washers arrived with a small piece broken off but it wasn’t detrimental to installing it. The quiet closing feature will take some getting used to. I like it! ... show more

Love the product, well made except the instructions for the installation was not in English, I went by the photo's for the instruction and the tool needed was not included. I had a hard time installing it.

I just installed a new toilet and immediately upgraded to this auto-close seat with chrome hardware. This is identical to one that I've purchased before from the local big box store for $10-15 more. Great metal hardware and bolts and super easy to install in just minutes. We had the same seat on our old toilet and also in our second bath and both performed beautifully for many years. Heavy-duty, not cheap plastic like a lot of the other slow-close toilet seats sold online. Very good quality. Should last many years. These lids are as good as the originals that came with the toilet (the originals held up for over 14 years, since my house was built in 2008). Bemis manufactures these seats...they manufacture a large percentage of the toilets used in households across the US, and their toilet seats don't disappoint. This seat fit just fine on a Gerber elongated bowl porcelain toilet. I had purchased another slow-close elongated bowl lid, and it was terrible...would not stay in place on the bowl, even for younger kids sitting on it to pinch a deuce. The Mayfair lid wrenches into place - don't over-torque it though or you'll snap the bottom nut off. If you do this, not a big deal, you can use a 1/2 inch wrench on the main nut anyway (in case the bottom piece breaks off). I'd recommend using a 1/2 inch wrench and not a ratchet. Easier to over-torque with a ratchet. Overall this seat takes less than 5 minutes to install. Couldn't be much easier. Was so impressed with this seat that I immediately purchased 2 more to replace the other aging toilet seats in my house. 5 stars, well-made, reasonably priced. ... show more

Didn't think I'd ever be reviewing a toilet seat but this one is genuinely nice. It was easy to install. Feels very solid. The dimensions listed in the description matched the actual product. I love the slow close feature. No more listening to the kids drop the lid with a loud bang. And to top it off it looks nice. Never really thought about what the toilet seat looks like, just got this one because it looked sturdy, but it really is nice looks when installed. ... show more
