It seems to be a sturdy, well crafted item that serves its purpose. Quick shipping and solid packaging. Easy installation with minimal tools or expertise needed. The only issue I had was not great plastic screws and nuts to attach the seat to the toilet. They get to the point of being tight but then pop over the threads, loosening again (like it needs an additional washer). I wish that I had the foresight to keep the bolts and nuts from the original seat but I threw then out. Since I like a seat that does not move, I purchased heavier duty plastic bolts and nuts with an assortment of washers and clamps to ensure a tight fit for another $5. Wish it could get zero stars. This seat is so flimsy and cheap it’s unusable and since I already opened it it’s not able to be returned. I have to buy another one and throw this out. It’s not secure and moves all over and it has dents in the lid from the bolts. About the only thing I like is the color. ... show more

Ehhh??? You get what you pay for I guess. Who would have thought it was so hard to find a quality, black padded toilet seat! I paid about $30 for this at the time …Then I had a plumbing issue that lead to a full remodel & abatement. I didn’t get to install it until about a year ago. It looks great. It feels a bit under padded like there’s a lot of unused space between the seat and the vinyl “skin”. Unfortunately mine didn’t last to long. It broke at the hinge on one of the bolts which is plastic so I’m searching for a replacement. ... show more

I bought this to replace a soft burgundy seat I had for several good years. Because I couldn’t find that same good quality seat, I bought this one. It’s easy to install and It is true to color as in the ad, but it’s definitely not good quality like the seat I had. Every single time I lift up the lid on the seat, there are deep indents from the hardware. I have had plenty of soft seats in my long lifetime and I have never ever seen this issue before. Never! This indicates that the vinyl is cheap and it probably won’t last long not to mention it’s unsightly to see every time I lift up the lid. Because I like the color for my bathroom’s decor, it was a decent price and I couldn’t find my old brand again, I will put up with it, but its definitely not a preferred choice. ... show more

We go though too many toilet seats for me to get a quality one. Wait, you say, if you get a quality one won't you be buying less toilet seats? With a pre-teen in the house, probably not. This one is just ok, and it's fine with me. It's soft and will likely last us many months--or it would have it my son wouldn't have sat right down on it and rocked it violently side-to-side to test it. Yeah, it's still hanging in there, but I'm guessing the life expectancy has dwindled. This is not one of those that just locks on the top of existing bolts. You will have to remove the other seat completely and then bolt it on. The bolts are plastic and were difficult for us to get tight enough before he did his little dance on it, and now they do not stay tight and I have to continue to adjust them weekly. It is still working! Things we need in a toilet seat: Padded to alleviate cold backsides in the winter, inexpensive so I won't cry when I have to replace yet another toilet seat in a few months, easy to install because my tween feels the need to 'help' with everything.     • Flimsy hinges!

Terribly substandard! The hinges for the lid are flimsy plastic that stretch and are easy to break. The ring scoots all over even when fastened as tightly as possible. We had it on the toilet two days before having to buy a new one made of solid wood.

Doesn’t last long, flimsy. The structure of this is weak. If you sit on top of it it will start to cave in. The hinges broke off shortly after return window closed. You can’t get it tight enough to stay in place so it’s always moving falling to one side or the other. Screws came out oh seat where it attached to the lower part. I wouldn’t buy this again unless you like wasting your money and having to buy a duplicate in a short period of time ... show more
