I guess we can still make good toilet seats here in the U.S.! For the money and the fact it's wood and not another hunk of plastic for the landfill, I'm pretty happy with this seat. Yes, wood is not as springy as plastic and fairly heavy, but the tradeoffs are worth it. The critical thing for me was to find one that would STAY UP when men micturate (pee for the layman), and this baby does. The seat it replaced had a slow closing mechanism but it did not stay upright without holding on to it, which can be a challenge for tall guys. Whether or not a seat can achieve this is dependent on the hinge, the weight of the seat, and the angle the upright seat can maintain as it hits the porcelain toilet tank cover. This is a very comfortable throne. Night and day from my previous seat. Elongated fit perfectly I’d imagine the regular would too for most toilets. As for installation? I bought this toilet seat two years ago and it still looks and works great. It was easy to install, even for an old lady like me. It looks just as nice as the original one that came with my Kohler toilet. It doesn't look cheap or fake. There are two little plastic bolt/screw type things that attach the seat to the toilet. They're easy to install and tighten with just a screwdriver or even a butter knife, which is what I used. The only small issue that I've had is that one of the bolts loosens by itself and I occasionally have to tighten it so the seat stays straight and level. This toilet seat is sturdy, attractive, works great and matches my Kohler toilet perfectly. Update: August 2019. I've had the toilet seat two years and it's proven to be a good toilet seat that looks nice. However, I reduced my rating to four stars because the white painted finish is starting to chip and wear in places on the bottom seat part. It's only noticeable up close, but it still bugs me. I'm the only one who uses the toilet, so I wouldn't expect the painted coating to wear down so quickly. ... show more

My log home was built in 1994 and still has the same almond colored Kohler toilet that was originally put in--still works great. Until I one day re-do my bathroom, I needed to replace the lid/seat part as it was showing its age a little here and there--the rest of the toilet still looks and works like new so I'm impressed with Kohler. Who knew there was colors like Bone and Linen and then there's white, and finally, this almond. And good thing I looked for Kohler and searched through the different color variations because almond is not a color that shows up much (I don't care for it either but that's what I have!). I put the new seat on top of the old for reference. If you have an older home with a Kohler toilet, then look carefully to be sure you are buying the correct color. Also, when you receive the lid/seat, they have the measurements on the box and show the color peeking out; you must check to be sure you have the right color and fit before you open the box. If you open the box, you can't return it and that's for sanitary reasons. The fit is pretty standard. If you have a round looking lid/seat then buy the round one. If you have a lid/seat that comes more to a kind of elongated 'point' then you have an elongated one. I don't believe there are other variations but just double check yours. The place where you screw it into the toilet is pretty standard measurements too but, again, they show the measurement on the box (and in the Amazon description). Super easy to install. You only have to unscrew the old one in both places and remove, place and then screw in the new one, and you are done. That's it. Really glad I matched the color. ... show more

I bought this toilet seat on 3/19/25 and today is 10/24/25. So, it's about 7 months old. It installed easily, but first thing I noticed is when both parts were up and I went to lower the seat, I would get hit by the cover on my forearm, hand, etc. That hurts. So, I had to use 2 hands to lower the seat from an upright position. But, today, I was looking at the seat and it's visibly a different shade in the front half. The seat has discolored! It's NOT DIRT! You can see the shine/plastic is still on the seat, but perhaps natural body oils have changed its color. Big question mark. ??? Also, this toilet isn't a high traffic situation. There are 2 of us living in a 3 toilet house. But, somehow and for some reason, the seat has turned gray in the front half! Have to get another because this is just junk! I replaced a seat that stayed white for many years! This is ridiculous! ... show more

Fits great on my Kohler oval toilet. Be advised this is NOT a slow, smooth closing seat of lid. It WILL slam down if you just let it go. My error, I thought it was a slow closing seat. I bought this thinking wood would be more stable than the plastic one I had, but this is way more wobbly than my old plastic one. I’m already planning to replace it. ... show more
