I bought this in “biscuit” which is a nice light beige color. Initially, I bought two of these. One of the seats sent was totally damaged, with a large chunk broken off from the seat. The other one had a “hinge cover” that was broken off from two thin hinge supports, although it did snap in place and seems to be fine. So, I sent the broken one back and later replaced it with an identical order. That replacement toilet seat arrived and seems just fine. The seats are very east to install, adjust and secure. They are substantial and the soft close feature is a plus. Started to give this 4 Stars, but then thought: in dealing with toilet seats, sometimes, sh_t happens, and you simply move on. I bought three of these toilet seats and couldn’t be happier! The color matches our toilets perfectly, and the curved lip on lid gives them a much nicer appearance than the standard flat style. Installation was quick and easy, and while the screws are plastic, the screw quality is surprisingly decent and holds securely. The soft-close lid closure works smoothly and adds a touch of convenience. The build quality feels solid, and for the price, they’re great value for money. This is a nice toilet seat. Closes itself, except the top is extremely slow to close and sometimes stops at the very top if it is not pulled to a spot where it seems to close easily. Probably might buy the next step up model next time. Installation was easy, except it requires a very large screwdriver head to really tighten the screws in place. ... show more

    • The lid doesn’t bang shut - ever. Replaced (free) after hinge issue.

The seat stays securely in place, the bolt tightly secure - it doesn’t wiggle around. The “slowly closing lid” is a real positive. It stays up when you want it up, slowly closes with a light tap and never bangs shut. In fact the lid makes no noise at all, ever. You can also effortlessly close the lid more quickly shut with your hand. Bought Kohler because of brand reputation, and for the free shipping that came with this slightly more expensive product. Worth it: The old seat would shift around slightly, and then the plastic phalange through which the bolt affixed the seat to the bowl snapped, rendering the seat useless - after only 2 years. Its price had been 1/3 the Kohler’s. UPDATE: one of the hinges for the lid broke, just a year short of purchase. Kohler customer service was super nice, they’re replacing it. Would have paid for a new one if the warranty had expired - that’s how nice this toilet seat is. Surprised the hinge broke, thick heavy plastic, but that’s what torque will do! A certain user may have been aiming herself toward the seat from an angle. Petite though she is, she promises to be more delicate with the product in future (and reminds me that it is, after all, a tiny bathroom). Have a great day. ... show more

Summary: This is a quality product. Can't beat a wood seat over plastic. Slow close is great. Quality of Materials: • Wood is so much more comfortable than plastic. That's important for one of the most important sitting activities you'll do every day. Quality of Fabrication: • It works well. The slow close feature is very convenient, and operates as it should. Ease of Installation: • A little tricky. /for some reason, thought I've tightened down the nuts on the plastic bolts, all 3 of these in my house subtly shift out of alignment over time. Maybe I need to put a small piece of rubber like a washer between the seat and the base to stop the sliding. Suitability for Purpose: • Nice to be able to just flick the seat down and walk away, letting it close softly, gently, caressingly down on the rim. Delicate, even. Very nice quality seat. Material is heavy and durable. Slow close feature works great. Hinges broke after 18 months. The seat tended to wiggle around on the bowl no matter how many times or how hard I hand tightened the plastic screws, i didn't want to use a tool or else I'd just strip the threads or break them. It has 20 cent hardware holding up a 20 dollar seat. And it doesn't seem like the hardware is common parts that you can replace easily. Off to the landfill. ... show more
