Description

As the telescope only offers a limited field of view, it may be fairly hard to locate the object for observation. This is why the telescope is fitted with a cross-hair finder scope for orientation purposes. We recommend performing the following adjustments in daylight. The magnification power of a telescope indicates how much an image is enlarged or how big and close it appears to the viewer. The focal length of the eyepiece, combined with the focal length of the telescope, determine the magnification power. To calculate the power of your telescope with any particular eyepiece, simply divide the focal length of the telescope (400mm) by the focal length of the eyepiece (indicated in “mm” on the eyepiece collar). When you use the eyepiece H6mm with this telescope, the magnification will be 66X. Because there is great deal of reflected glare when the full moon is observed, the addition of the moon mirror will remove this glare and make it possible to sharpen surface details. The moon mirror is screwed into the eyepiece when you view the moon. It's always a childhood dream to get myself a Telescope. Ordered this one since it's most price competitive. Shipping is super fast even I am no longer Amazon Prime member. I ordered it on Friday, it arrived on following Monday!! Packaging is solid, a little smaller than what I expected. Well, maybe I expect too much for a Telescope designed for kids. There are magnified moon and solar system pictures enclosed in the box, which is a bonus. Good thought from the seller! Assembling is a charm, just follow the instruction of user manual. Even though user manual is in English, need a bit improvement on translation. Apparently it was translated directly from Chinese-version user manual. It clearly states image seen will be up-side-down, but who cares since we are viewing MOON!! It took me a while to figure out how to use finder scope and focus. Image is not crispy clear, probably because it is too close. Tripod design can be improved as it's not very stable even after I pressed down the center lock. There is no moon tonight, I am looking forward to use the scope to view when moon becomes available With that amount of money paid for a functional telescope, it meets my expectation. This is a very good gift for the kids and the good telescope to begin with for beginners. It's size is compact and you can take it anywhere whether it's night camping or hiking or just roaming around the forest. You can use it for birdwatching, star gazing . It comes with the tripod for stability while using the telescope.     • Telescope not working
We did not use the telescope until several months after purchase (Birthday gift). It is not working properly as you can only see a tiny image in the viewer. We have trouble shot it and looked for tel or emails on here but can’t locate anywhere to contact regarding this. Has anyone else had these problems and luck getting the issue resolved.     • Does not work for nature/birdwatching
I bought this as a gift for my son. He loves playing with his toy telescope on his swing set so I thought this would be a great step up for him. The description in both the ad and on the telescope box itself says/shows that it is good for birdwatching and looking at nature so this is the main reason I bought it. My son isn't old enough or interested enough in star gazing. While I'll admit we are novices at using a telescope, we had no idea that the image through the telescope would presend itself upside down!!! What person wants to look at nature upside down?? I don't think the telescope should be advertised for this. Also, for beginners, it is really hard to focus on the tiny hole and you have to squint so hard that it gives you a headache. Yes, you can see things very far away and the clarity is good, but it doesn't work for appreciating nature. ... show more

This is a great gift for girls and boys. I bought thos as a gift for my 9 year old granddaughter. It's size is compact and she can take it anywhere whether it's night or day, camping, hiking or just sitting in your back yard. We use it for birdwatching, aligator watching and star gazing . Bought this as a Xmas gift, finally tried to use this summer, it was so small and cheap feeling, couldn't get the moon to come in clear no matter what we did or which lens we used. Felt like something from a bargain outlet store. Luckily it was easy to return.
