Description

As the telescope only offers a limited field of view, it may be fairly hard to locate the object for observation. This is why the telescope is fitted with a cross-hair finder scope for orientation purposes. We recommend performing the following adjustments in daylight. The magnification power of a telescope indicates how much an image is enlarged or how big and close it appears to the viewer. The focal length of the eyepiece, combined with the focal length of the telescope, determine the magnification power. To calculate the power of your telescope with any particular eyepiece, simply divide the focal length of the telescope (400mm) by the focal length of the eyepiece (indicated in “mm” on the eyepiece collar). When you use the eyepiece H6mm with this telescope, the magnification will be 66X. Because there is great deal of reflected glare when the full moon is observed, the addition of the moon mirror will remove this glare and make it possible to sharpen surface details. The moon mirror is screwed into the eyepiece when you view the moon.     • My childhood dream comes true!
It's always a childhood dream to get myself a Telescope. Ordered this one since it's most price competitive. Shipping is super fast even I am no longer Amazon Prime member. I ordered it on Friday, it arrived on following Monday!! Packaging is solid, a little smaller than what I expected. Well, maybe I expect too much for a Telescope designed for kids. There are magnified moon and solar system pictures enclosed in the box, which is a bonus. Good thought from the seller! Assembling is a charm, just follow the instruction of user manual. Even though user manual is in English, need a bit improvement on translation. Apparently it was translated directly from Chinese-version user manual. It clearly states image seen will be up-side-down, but who cares since we are viewing MOON!! It took me a while to figure out how to use finder scope and focus. Image is not crispy clear, probably because it is too close. Tripod design can be improved as it's not very stable even after I pressed down the center lock. There is no moon tonight, I am looking forward to use the scope to view when moon becomes available With that amount of money paid for a functional telescope, it meets my expectation.     • Steady patience required
This telescope has been a huge disappointment. I had bought it for my grandson when he was clearly too young, 3, to operate it. I trotted it back out now, when he is 8, and decided to first learn myself how to operate it. I am finding it way too small and flimsy to hold steady and aim. Because of the very small diameter of its optics, alignment of the object, telescope, and eye must be extremely precise. Sitting it on a table with its tripod, the diagonal mirror, and the 20 mm eyepiece, I am able to focus on the wall of an adjacent building if I hold my eye steady in just the right place without touching the eyepiece. It is hard to keep my head and eye still enough. Nice to finally see that it actually “works.” I am thinking, however, that my grandson would be better off with a good pair of binoculars. ... show more

It’s not bad. Pretty entry level but not too bad. Don’t expect anything really high quality about it. But it’s definitely functional.

I used a few times but it is hard to give a great review because I live in the city and was not able to see sky as clear due to lights. I was able to see far objects but everything was upside down. Not sure if I can recommend. Not worth if you are around city lit areas.

It's size is compact and you can take it anywhere whether it's night camping or hiking or just roaming around the forest. You can use it for birdwatching, star gazing . This is a great gift for girls and boys. I bought thos as a gift for my 9 year old granddaughter. It's size is compact and she can take it anywhere whether it's night or day, camping, hiking or just sitting in your back yard. We use it for birdwatching, aligator watching and star gazing . It comes with the tripod for stability while using the telescope. This is very useful for stimulating your child's interest. I normally spend the same for a birthday gift that is tossed away. I purchased this for my 8yr old daughter who is really into space and stars. It arrived during daylight hours so we used it to look at things out our large wooded area behind our house. She was SO excited and couldnt wait to look at stars! Unfortunately, this telescope is not strong enough to magnify for stars and it did NOT come with the stars and moon map. It also did not include the moon finder so I find the picture f the telescope deceiving. I would recommend for a 4 yr old wanting to play pirates but for my 8 yr old, I was left wanting. ... show more
