My first use of this on a stove went well. My subsequent uses of wood, gas, and alcohol backpacking stoves yielded poor results with the entire unit falling apart. My final use (I really wanted to like this) resulted in an explosion on a batchstove. I had just turned away to grab a glove, I'm so fortunate. Unfortunately, I'm past the return date. The final blow to backpacking use (if it were to be made safe) is the complexity and cleaning of multiple small parts. It does look incredibly cool though. A+ for aesthetics.

I purchased this Moka pot on 09/24/2023. On my 2nd time making coffee with it, the thing literally blew up in my face, leaving me and my wifes face burned pretty bad. I cannot recommend this to anyone for any reason. This moka pot is extremely dangerous!

I have an aluminum moka pot, and when i saw this lighter version I thought it would be great to try out. This is roughly the same size as my 3 cup moka pot, just narrower and lighter. The first thing I noticed is that there is no pressure relief valve, like in a regular moka pot, which does make me nervous. The "threads" to attach the top and the bottom are just a twist/lock indent, which is also a bit odd. I used this with my snowpeak litemax, and it would likely fit a brs3000 pretty well, but if your stove has a wide flame pattern, this is going to be much too narrow to use. Inside it has two removable mesh filters (one for below and one for on top of the coffee). These seem easy enough to rinse, but over time I imagine they will get clogged up unless you deep clean them. I was able to make a cup of coffee with this, but as its a 5oz moka pot, that's enough coffee for one. So if you are looking to make coffee for a group, this isn't it. If you are looking for a hiking oriented coffee maker for one, this isn't bad. Although, there are definitely lighter ways to make coffee for one person when backpacking.

This is a very compact little coffee maker. It's actually a bit smaller than expected, but definitely a good size to make one ~8oz cup of strong coffee. Very very light weight because it's made from thin but sturdy sandblasted titanium. Fold out handles on the top half and on the lid will keep you from getting burned when in use. You could use the top portion as a cup and drink right from there if you need to. I have a matching cup (from a different manufacturer) that I keep with this thing. Comes with a nice pouch that it fits neatly into and keeps everything secure and together... Very easy to clean. No hard to get to areas. Its also dishwasher safe. It's pretty straight forward, but if you Google the product, you'll find their web page with easy to follow, detailed instructions. Very handy bit of kit.

I bought this in the hopes of having a lightweight stove top that would make ample coffee for at least two. I have decades of experience w bialettis but this is very fussy about coffee quantity and grind. frankly hard to dial in the right coffee amount and grind. On top of that, it is very dangerous to have a stove top espresso maker that does not have a safety valve. if the lower screen gets clogged for any reason, this pot will explode. mine did - big mess but noone burned. while there are weight savings to be sure , I would bring a flip pot next time. lighter, more flavorful, and safer. or my bialetti.
