  • Good value for the money. Excellent customer service.
Size: PH960W-1
It's been 5 months now since my original review and the camera continues to work as expected. I am raising my review to 5 stars because the customer service has been very responsive with any questions I have had about the camera operation and features. They have also promised to try to do a better job of clarifying their advertising with regard to the megapixels which was really my only serious criticism of the camera. In live mode where you can elect to take a photo or a video using the app on your phone, the output is 1280 x 720 pixels which is commonly referred to as SD resolution and is about 1 megapixel. In the camera mode with the app closed, it will output a file that is 48 megapixels. But I expect this is achieved by simply multiplying the number of pixels within the camera before outputting the file. Meaning that where you originally had one pixel from the camera sensor, you get 2, 4, 6, 8 or whatever pixels in the output file - with all the additional pixels being the same as the original single pixel from the sensor. From a quality of the image standpoint, you seem to gain nothing from the 48 megapixel file compared to the 2 megapixel (1920 x 1080) FHD resolution plus the 48 megapixel file is difficult to work with because of it's size. I'm not totally positive the the 2 megapixel setting is actually higher quality than the 1 megapixel setting, but it may be. So my conclusion from trial & error and experimentation is that the actual sensor in the camera is probably either 1 or 2 mega pixels. The good news is that the 1 or 2 megapixel photos it takes are good quality - much better than my security cameras which are rated 3 or 5 megapixels. I do wish that it had some white Led lights in order to take color photos at night, but so far the black and white infrared photos are decent and the motion activation seems to be working properly. Battery life has also been good so far, and setup was fairly easy. It is worth noting that in live mode - the camera creates it's own hotspot for the app to connect to - which mean no access to wifi internet while the app is active. When you are connected with the app, the camera battery is drained much quicker (which is disclosed in the "manual") and your phone battery will also go down pretty fast while using the app. Mostly I use the camera in live mode to take photos of my birdfeeder and it works well for that. I do wish that live mode offered FHD instead of just SD, but most people are probably going to use it as an unattended game camera where the FHD setting will work. Like I said - it seems a good value for the cost and the customer reps are very responsive. ... show more

  • Trail Camera Review - Testing in the elements
Size: PH960W-2 pack
I couldn’t be happier with this trail camera! Setup was quick and straightforward, and the picture quality is excellent — crisp, detailed shots both day and night. Within the first week, it captured a bobcat prowling through my yard, which was an incredible surprise. The time-lapse feature also worked flawlessly during a huge winter storm, giving me an amazing sequence of how the snow piled up hour by hour. The camera held up perfectly in freezing temperatures and high winds — no issues with moisture or battery life. I’ve used a few different brands over the years, but this one stands out for reliability, image quality, and ease of use. Whether you’re into wildlife photography or just want to monitor your property, this camera is a solid choice. Highly recommend! ... show more

  • Excellent wildlife cameras at a great price
Size: PH960W-2 pack
When I first moved to this neighborhood more than 30 years ago, I didn't need a camera to view the wildlife. We could see deer at least once a week during the day (I once saw eleven of them grazing in my neighbor's yard) with a variety of other smaller animals making regular visits. But now with more than 100 homes filling almost every lot, the loss of habitat makes animal sightings much more difficult. For a nature lover in our neighborhood, a wildlife camera becomes a necessity. I had tried other cameras before, but the MAXDONE 2 pack has quickly become my favorite. I have had them up for about a month now and am completely satisfied with their performance. First, delivery was fast. I think I got them one day after I placed the order. Next, setting them up was much easier than what I expected. I hate cell phones, but luckily the directions were easy to follow and every step was really intuitive. Likewise, placing the cameras on a couple of trees was fairly easy, even for an old guy who's a real klutz with tools. The cameras have been up for over a month now. The batteries stayed at 100% until a few days ago. They dropped a bit after a week of cloudy days followed by an ice storm, but they are now getting sunlight again. The best thing as far as I'm concerned is that I can check them every day without leaving my house! I think that the connection range even exceeds the 55 feet that is advertised; one of the cameras is at least 70 feet away. They connect and load within a few seconds and downloading the files is fast and easy. Now, a couple of suggestions: If, as I did, you mount your camera to a tree with thick, soft bark, you might consider using longer screws than those provided. I had to really push hard to get the screws to hold. Also. consider the gradient of the land when mounting the camera. At first, one of my cameras on a hilly spot did not cover the ground I wanted, and I had to go back and tilt it. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with my MAXDONE solar trail cameras. I've been patiently waiting, getting nice pictures of my regular raccoon visitors and an occasional coyote or neighborhood cat, and I was finally rewarded with a deer family a few nights ago! With the drop in price, now would be a great time to pick up a pair of these for yourself or for a nature loving friend. ... show more

  • Great value, great functionality
Size: PH960W-2 pack
The 2 cameras were easy to set up. It came with mounts for both cameras and both solar panels, which was nice. The video quality is great and there are many options in the app. Also, you dont need to have a card reader to review the videos, you can connect via bluetooth/wifi to the camera to review videos. You have to be within bluetooth range to connect to the cameras to wake them up in order to review videos. Your phone then connects to the cameras wifi to stream the videos. The cameras do not connect to your wifi network, so you can't review the videos if youre not within bluetooth range. Otherwise, no issues connecting to the camera and reviewing videos. ... show more

  • One of 3 has no battery life One of 3 has no battery life
Size: PH960W-1
I love the easy setup and especially the easy retrieval of images. The bluetooth works for a far greater distance than I expected. I bought3 and 2 of them have amazing battery life. They have never been recharged and I've had them over a month. They don't seem to pick up tree movement, etc as much as other cameras I own. They still pick up animals easily. Now one of the cameras won't hold a charge at all. I charged it up, kept it off, and took it out a week later. It was below 10% battery. I recharged again. No dice. It's too late for me to return the one malfunctioning unit, so I'm stuck. I'm research ways to replace the battery or hook up a solar panel, but I'm bummed I got a dude. The image quality is great, though, on the two that work. ... show more

Very effective trail camera. Easy mounting, adequate solar charging, small footprint, and straight-forward app usage. • Ticks all my boxes for an outstanding, lightweight night vision camera to use when solo camping.
Size: PH960W-1
I’ve purchased other trail cameras and was instantly unhappy with their quality. One, in particular I thought I’d like because it had a built-in screen but it took 8 batteries and its weight felt like a brick. I plan to do some solo camping this summer and lightweight gear is a necessity. Therefore, I purchased this MAXDONE Trail Camera because it ticked several of the boxes for things I want from a camera, and I couldn't be more satisfied with its build, features, and performance! Here are 5 highlights I appreciate most: 1. High-Quality Imagery: The 1080p HD resolution is crisp and clear, capturing detail images perfectly. The photos, whether taken during daylight or at night, are consistently sharp and vivid. 2. Night Vision: The night vision feature works exceptionally well and has allowed me to capture nocturnal wildlife activities without any issue. It has a wide detection range, ensuring nothing goes unnoticed. 3. Wifi Connectivity: It advertises a Bluetooth connection, but I haven’t found that the be the case. Regardless, the Wi-Fi feature alone makes it incredibly easy & quick to connect to my iPhone. This seamless connection has enabled me to view images in real-time and then share them from my phone. Very cool! Other trail cameras I used I had to remove the SD card physically to transfer. Not the Maxdone camera. Best part is, this will allow me to be several feet away in my tent and I can observe what’s outside in the dark without exiting my sleeping bag. Big perk!!! 4. Durable: I’ve exposed it to outdoor cold & wet weather conditions and no problems so far! 5. Value for Money: At $49.99 with a substantial discount, this trail camera has given me the best value for its quality, features, and ease of use. I’d say this camera is a must-have for anyone interested in wildlife photography, for anyone wanting to monitor their property discreetly, or like me, someone wanting to have peace-of-mind while out camping. Overall, the Maxdone Trail Camera is an outstanding product that delivers on all its promises. Whether you're an avid nature enthusiast or simply want to capture outdoor moments, this camera will exceed your expectations. Highly recommended! ... show more

  • Bought a camera for an opossum. No Regrets!
Size: PH960W-1
From the Desk of Lil’ Ms. Petals, Nighttime Yard Explorer & Professional Snacker Hello, hoomans...My name is Lil’ Ms. Petals. I am a refined and gentle opossum who strolls through the backyard nightly to inspect strawberries, eat some bugs, and generally uphold the balance of nature. Recently, I learned that my humans purchased the MAXDONE WiFi Trail Camera to observe my noble lifestyle. I approve. And I must say — they chose well. About the Camera (according to a very photogenic opossum): This camera is great at noticing small, quiet creatures, such as myself, even when I tiptoe through the garden like a soft whisper of moonlight. The night vision is excellent — so you can fully appreciate my fur texture, whisker expressiveness, and signature tail. The resolution is crisp, the motion response is quick, and honestly? I look fantastic. Now, Listen — This Part Matters (Human Setup Guide): This camera doesn’t connect to your house WiFi. Instead, your phone connects directly to the camera. Here is the correct ritual: 1) Charge my observation device. 2) Turn it on. 3) In the app, tap the “+” and add the camera when it appears. 4) Go to My Devices and select my camera. 5) At the bottom of the screen, tap Camera (not Gallery, not Status, not Settings — Camera). 6) The app will first connect via Bluetooth. 7) Then app will prompt you to connect to the camera’s WiFi. Do this. Trust the process. 8) Once the phone is on the camera’s WiFi, you may now use the app to manage settings, view live preview, or download my glamour shots. Remember to format the SD card in the app before installation. The manual says it’s required. I support following directions. In short: Select your device → Tap “Camera” → App connects via Bluetooth → Switch to camera’s WiFi → Manage everything. Once you get this rhythm, it becomes very easy. (Note: You must be within about 45 feet with no major walls. I myself am only 16 inches long so I understand the reality of scale.) My Performance Review: Responsiveness: Fast enough to catch me mid-strut. Resolution: Stunning. Magazine-ready. Night Vision: Cinematic. Very art house documentary. Weatherproof: Survives mist, dew, and the occasional raccoon gossip fight. Battery Life: Excellent for nightly adventures. Final Thoughts: My humans are very happy with their purchase. I am very happy to be admired properly. If you have: -Raccoons -Opossums -Skunks -Wandering cats -Or even a particularly dramatic squirrel This camera will capture their splendor beautifully. Highly recommended, Signed, Lil’ Ms. Petals Backyard Ambassador & Snack Inspector ... show more
