Excellent Trail Camera with Great Features and Outstanding Value!

Earlier this year, I spotted a mountain lion stalking the deer that were feeding on the corn and salt block I had put out. It was one of those unforgettable moments, and I wished I had been able to capture it on video. That experience convinced me it was time to invest in a trail camera. I'm also keeping watch for the big buck that only seems to appear late at night. Besides that, there have been reports of black bears, coyotes, and bobcats in my area of the Ozark woods—and of course, there are always the local Bigfoot stories! I don't want to miss a thing. After researching and reading countless reviews on different trail cameras, I finally decided on the MAXDONE Solar WiFi Trail Camera, and I'm so glad I did. One of my biggest concerns was that I do not currently have Wi-Fi at my house in the Ozarks. I wanted a camera that would let me view footage without having to remove the SD card every time, and I also didn't want the hassle of taking the camera down whenever the battery needed charging. This camera checked every box. Setup was quick and simple. I fully charged it with the included USB cable, downloaded the app, and connected my iPhone to the camera. I also found a helpful YouTube video with suggested settings for motion sensitivity, detection distance, recording frequency, and more. Within a short time, I had everything running exactly the way I wanted. The camera comes with hardware for permanent tree mounting, as well as a heavy-duty mounting strap, which is what I'm using until I'm completely satisfied with the placement. The strap holds the camera securely in place. It also has a standard 1/4-inch threaded mount, making it compatible with tripods or camera stands. That feature will be especially useful when I go mobile hunting because I can quickly set it up wherever I need it and use my phone to monitor areas up to about 50–60 feet away. Another huge advantage is the included solar panel and mounting bracket. Once installed, it helps keep the battery charged, so I don't have to keep bringing the camera inside to recharge. My favorite feature is that I have the camera mounted about 45 feet from my house, and I can simply connect to it with my iPhone. I can watch videos, view photos, delete recordings I've already saved to free up SD card space, or switch over to Live View whenever I want. In Live View, the camera doesn't automatically record what you're watching, but there's an on-screen record button that lets you start and stop recording anytime. When you're disconnected, the camera automatically records whenever motion is detected based on your settings, and you can even have it capture photos at the same time. Whether footage is recorded automatically or manually through Live View, you can easily download it directly to your phone for viewing or sharing. The settings are incredibly versatile, allowing you to customize the camera exactly the way you want. One feature I especially appreciate is that it connects directly to my phone using Bluetooth, so I don't need home Wi-Fi, cellular service for the camera, or any monthly subscription fees like many security cameras require. Of course, none of those features would matter if the image quality wasn't good—but it absolutely is. The 4K video is sharp and clear, and the night vision produces excellent nighttime footage. The camera also records audio, and you can choose whether to have sound enabled or disabled depending on your preference. The company has also been wonderful to work with. After emailing them the information needed to extend my warranty from one year to two years, they responded quickly and even offered me a surprise gift. That was a very nice bonus and showed they truly appreciate their customers. Considering everything included in the package, I think this trail camera is an outstanding value. Mine came with the camouflage 4K night vision trail camera, solar charging panel, USB charging cable, two hardware mounting brackets, a tree strap, and a 32 GB SD card. Then you still receive an extra surprise after registering for the extended two-year warranty. Overall, I couldn't be happier with this purchase. Whether you're watching wildlife, scouting deer, monitoring your property, or simply curious about what visits your yard after dark, this camera delivers. I wasn't disappointed, and I don't think you will be either! (Video is a deer captured the very first night I installed it, which was just last night)!

Ticks all my boxes for an outstanding, lightweight night vision camera to use when solo camping.

I’ve purchased other trail cameras and was instantly unhappy with their quality. One, in particular I thought I’d like because it had a built-in screen but it took 8 batteries and its weight felt like a brick. I plan to do some solo camping this summer and lightweight gear is a necessity. Therefore, I purchased this MAXDONE Trail Camera because it ticked several of the boxes for things I want from a camera, and I couldn't be more satisfied with its build, features, and performance! Here are 5 highlights I appreciate most: 1. High-Quality Imagery: The 1080p HD resolution is crisp and clear, capturing detail images perfectly. The photos, whether taken during daylight or at night, are consistently sharp and vivid. 2. Night Vision: The night vision feature works exceptionally well and has allowed me to capture nocturnal wildlife activities without any issue. It has a wide detection range, ensuring nothing goes unnoticed. 3. Wifi Connectivity: It advertises a Bluetooth connection, but I haven’t found that the be the case. Regardless, the Wi-Fi feature alone makes it incredibly easy & quick to connect to my iPhone. This seamless connection has enabled me to view images in real-time and then share them from my phone. Very cool! Other trail cameras I used I had to remove the SD card physically to transfer. Not the Maxdone camera. Best part is, this will allow me to be several feet away in my tent and I can observe what’s outside in the dark without exiting my sleeping bag. Big perk!!! 4. Durable: I’ve exposed it to outdoor cold & wet weather conditions and no problems so far! 5. Value for Money: At $49.99 with a substantial discount, this trail camera has given me the best value for its quality, features, and ease of use. I’d say this camera is a must-have for anyone interested in wildlife photography, for anyone wanting to monitor their property discreetly, or like me, someone wanting to have peace-of-mind while out camping. Overall, the Maxdone Trail Camera is an outstanding product that delivers on all its promises. Great Trail Camera — Highly Recommend

I purchased this trail camera back in April, and it has been a great purchase! I got it to keep an eye on my property because I care for a few stray cats and had some raccoons coming around. I wanted a way to monitor what was happening and make sure all of the animals were safe. This camera has been awesome. It connected to my phone easily, and the picture quality is really good—even in total darkness! You do need to be within a relatively close distance to connect to it and look at the videos or do a live view. I have mine at the end of my garage, and I can connect to it while standing at my back door or even inside my bathroom, so the range has worked well for my needs. I’ve also placed it on a tree where the animals were coming onto my property to see what was coming and going, and it has worked great for that too. The only thing I’m still figuring out is the best way to position it so I can get a wider view and cover more of my property. I’ve also used the solar panel quite a few times, and it works extremely well! But Since I currently have the camera inside my garage, it doesn’t get sunlight, so I’ve been charging it instead. One full charge lasts me about a week or more, which is great! I really like that you can customize the camera to take however many photos you want or record videos when it detects movement. I currently have mine set up to take one photo and record one video and I have the video set to record for 45 seconds each time it detects something, but you can set it to record for longer if you prefer. Overall, this has been a great product and has worked really well for monitoring my property and the animals around it. I’m very happy with my purchase and would definitely recommend this trail camera!

Great Battery Life

My first camera purchase was a few years ago (not these cameras). Really like them but they would run the 8 AA batteries dead in a week., got a little expensive. I purchased these a couple of weeks ago and am very pleased with them. They do not have a screen to view the photos and I thought this might be an issue. It's not an issue at all. They connect to my phone very easily and a good range. I did not hook up the solar charging panels for over a week and the batteries were still at 50%. I have the solar panels installed so the batteries now show 100% all the time. Great night photos. The set up was extremely easy and the mounting hardware was a big bonus. They came with straps for mounting or adjustable brackets for the camera and solar panel. The cameras are about the size of your hand and seem pretty robust. I did talk with their customer service about one of the SD card (supplied) and they are very helpful. Overall I'm very satisfied and would not hesitate to purchase again.

Frustrating setup, excellent results once configured properly

After about 1.5 weeks with this camera, I’m happy with it overall and getting great wildlife footage—but there was definitely a learning curve. I almost returned it at first because my initial nighttime captures were completely black, even though the camera was clearly motion-triggering and recording clips with timestamps. I spent quite a bit of time troubleshooting and initially thought the camera might be defective. In hindsight, part of the problem was my setup. I had started with very aggressive settings (64MP photos, 4K video, 5-photo burst, high sensitivity, short trigger interval), which was probably asking a lot from a budget solar trail camera. I also later realized the manual includes a recommended baseline configuration and troubleshooting steps near the end that I hadn’t paid close attention to initially. A firmware update also helped. Once I dialed the settings back and got everything configured properly, this camera became genuinely impressive. In just the first week and a half, I’ve captured: * a great crested flycatcher in flight * a momma deer * several lone coyote sightings * raccoons, both singles and groups I bought this to monitor wildlife crossing my backyard near a wooded creek area, and it has been fascinating. One unexpectedly sweet moment was seeing raccoons stopping to drink from clean water I left out overnight. Pros: * Motion-triggered clips (no need to sift through hours of footage) * Very good wildlife detection * Solar charging is convenient * Camouflage design blends in well * Great once dialed in Cons: * Setup isn’t as beginner-friendly as it could be * Important recommended settings are buried late in the manual * Expect some trial and error during initial setup Overall, if you’re patient and willing to tweak settings, this is a really fun and capable wildlife camera for the price. I might buy another for more backyard coverage.

Excellent wildlife cameras at a great price

When I first moved to this neighborhood more than 30 years ago, I didn't need a camera to view the wildlife. We could see deer at least once a week during the day (I once saw eleven of them grazing in my neighbor's yard) with a variety of other smaller animals making regular visits. But now with more than 100 homes filling almost every lot, the loss of habitat makes animal sightings much more difficult. For a nature lover in our neighborhood, a wildlife camera becomes a necessity. I had tried other cameras before, but the MAXDONE 2 pack has quickly become my favorite. I have had them up for about a month now and am completely satisfied with their performance. First, delivery was fast. I think I got them one day after I placed the order. Next, setting them up was much easier than what I expected. I hate cell phones, but luckily the directions were easy to follow and every step was really intuitive. Likewise, placing the cameras on a couple of trees was fairly easy, even for an old guy who's a real klutz with tools. The cameras have been up for over a month now. The batteries stayed at 100% until a few days ago. They dropped a bit after a week of cloudy days followed by an ice storm, but they are now getting sunlight again. The best thing as far as I'm concerned is that I can check them every day without leaving my house! I think that the connection range even exceeds the 55 feet that is advertised; one of the cameras is at least 70 feet away. They connect and load within a few seconds and downloading the files is fast and easy. Now, a couple of suggestions: If, as I did, you mount your camera to a tree with thick, soft bark, you might consider using longer screws than those provided. I had to really push hard to get the screws to hold. Also. consider the gradient of the land when mounting the camera. At first, one of my cameras on a hilly spot did not cover the ground I wanted, and I had to go back and tilt it. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with my MAXDONE solar trail cameras. I've been patiently waiting, getting nice pictures of my regular raccoon visitors and an occasional coyote or neighborhood cat, and I was finally rewarded with a deer family a few nights ago! With the drop in price, now would be a great time to pick up a pair of these for yourself or for a nature loving friend.

Great Trail Cameras

The cameras are small, discrete, and easy to hide in woods for tracking game. Picture and sound quality is amazing. The field of view is great. The cameras are easy to setup and adjustable once placed. They were compatible with my iPhone as they are Bluetooth and WiFi enabled. The cameras also seem to be made durable and the solar panels are a plus knowing I don’t have to change batteries every other day. Worth the money would definitely purchase again.
