Fairly easy to assemble with 2 people. Took maybe 30 mins. Purchased 3 years ago and still standing strong. I did have to tighten the screws but i have 4 kids constantly going up and down so too be expected.

    • Awesome loft bed for young children
This is great for my two grandsons who are 3 and 5. We bought them the loft bed version with the stairs, not the ladder, and put a full-sized foam mattress on the floor underneath, like a twin-full bunk bed. We chose this loft bed because it is low so if one of the kids jumps or rolls out, they don’t have far to fall and the full bed underneath adds about a foot more cushion to break a fall. That being said, with a 10” twin foam mattress on top, there is still plenty of railing extending high enough to prevent accidental rolling out of bed, so that’s another plus. The stairs are safe for even our youngest grandson to climb on - he is just over 1. The only downside is that one of the parts of the stair railing arrived broken and we had to use wood glue to assemble it. Overall, including the wood glue, it took about three hours for two people to assemble. Even with the broken part, the price was right and the finished product is everything we hoped it would be. Overall it was a great purchase for the price. The biggest challenge is definitely taking the time to build it. This is one of the most challenging build it yourself items I have had to work with. You will def need two people to piece together the left and right sides of the bed together, and if you get the stairs (like I did) be prepared to spend another 1-2 hours at least putting those together. The instructions were good enough, better than I was anticipating per some of the reviews. The challenges I had are the following: - screws are not labeled outside of cartoon drawing describing each screw so for the most part you can figure it out, but it just takes a lot of unnecessary hassle for something that could be fixed by just marking the bags of screws the same way the bed parts are labeled - there were some minor mistakes, item 13 was labeled 14 (and 14 was 13), instructions were conflicted on some early steps by identifying one screw in the summary but a different screw in the actual step - some of my parts had minor cracks, nothing concerning but still shouldn’t be that way when brand new - the plugs used to plug the unused staircase screw holes did not fit properly, so doesn’t look as good as it could - one of the step connections was angled too much to where the fastener could not screw in properly, in the end I couldn’t screw in that step properly, but luckily there are enough fasteners everywhere else so it doesn’t seem to be a problem Also my completed bed seems very sturdy which contradicts some of the other reviews that the bed is wobbly, so it may be hit or miss in quality (I happen to just get a good one) or perhaps minor mistakes in building it could cause the bed to become wobbly which reconfirms the challenge of building this thing right. Despite the challenge in putting it together, I still recommend it for the price. It seems pretty sturdy, even I jumped into the bed with my son and felt secure.     • My Daughter Loves It
My 3, almost 4, year old needed a new bed because her little brother has outgrown the crib, and needs a toddler bed. However, I didn't want to buy a new toddler bed and then have to buy a twin sized bed a few months later. So, I thought to get my daughter a twin bed now. Her cousin has a bunk bed, and she really wanted one like it, so I thought a low loft bed with stairs would be perfect. This bed is great once all set up. It doesn't really have a lot of storage. I was expecting the steps to open like little boxes, but I looked at so many beds before buying that I must've mixed it up. Anyway, it took 5 hours with 3 adults to put together. The directions weren't particularly detailed, and some of the parts weren't labeled. More frustratingly, however, the screws and findings were not labeled and were thrown together among 4 different bags with no labels and no obvious correlation to direction steps. I feel like a good 45 min was spent just trying to sort out the screws. Anyway, I remember reading one of the reviews on here about the slats not being secured, which did have me concerned. However, they are fine. They come strung together perfectly spaced to lay on the bed, and they screw down. Once secured, they work very well. I am not worried at all about my daughter jumping in the bed and breaking the slats. Additionally, there are holes along the underside of the frame that I think is meant for the tents that this company makes for their beds. I'm thinking about getting one. Also, we are planning on more kids so in the event that there is another girl, a toddler bed fits just fine underneath this one, and if a twin mattress is laid on the floor underneath, it works as a "bunk bed". All that would need to be done is to add a small frame along the bottom. There would be just enough head room. ... show more

Overall a decent product for the price. Easy to assemble. Quality control from original manufacturer could be better. Upon unwrapping the pieces, a number of parts had small dents and nicks. White finish is nice, but paint drips apparent in a number of places. Predrilled screw holes were out of alignment on part 6, which supports the top step and fastens to the back rail - an annoying but manageable fix with wood screws. Bunk rails were a bit loose despite adjusting joining screw tightness, requiring addition of shims to ensure snug fit. ... show more

It’s a little wobbly, but overall good. I would recommend more than a 5inch mattress because you can feel the wood slats in your back with the 5inch. Took 4 hours to put together.
