A great brush for tender headed kids. This was an absolute game changer for my child who hated having hair brushed. That said, I’m not sure that a generic brand wouldn’t have worked just as well. I LOVE THIS HAIRBRUSH! The first time that I used it, it felt like an itch I never knew I had was scratched 😊 This hairbrush feels absolutely amazing on my scalp. It is beautifully crafted and with care, I believe it will last for many years. I think I might have just become an unofficial brush snob now! As for bristle stiffness, I would not want softer bristles than the standard Ruby, The one made for sensitive scalps and thinning hair would probably be too soft for me. Don’t buy this brush, maybe it’s the vendor. I had one of these last for over ten years. Within 90 days two heads of bristles came out.

I have used this brush for about a year now, and I love it! It keeps my hair soft and smooth. I swear my scalp is much healthier than it was before I bought this brush because it gets massaged while I brush my hair. It used to get itchy and a little flaky at times, but that hasn't happened since I started using this brush. I'm sure any boar bristle brush would provide these benefits, but I really like this one. This is my second Mason Pearson Bristle brush that I have owned. I would have rated my older brush which I bought about fifteen years ago as 5 star quality. I gave this new model only three stars as I find that the bristles are quite a bit stiffer and therefore more uncomfortable to use. To be fair however, I have less hair to brush and it is new, but who ever heard of natural boar bristle getting softer with age. ... show more
