Had this for about a month now and so far so good. (*Edit: over a year now and still happy! All season approved.) I own a 2yo Belgian Malinois that gets to run off leash in the mountains. So durability is a big deal. We have been through 4 different light up collars and all have failed in short order. With the nights getting longer and tourists speeding in the dark, being seen is MANDATORY. Also helps me keep track of him when we're out on walks. We got green and it is very visible. Almost a bit blinding when he is waking right with me. Creates a nice glow in the trees and lights the trail up for me. Can see him for a good long distance. Even off and in daylight, the color is nice and bright. The clip is heavy plastic and has held up on the couple below zero days we had (so far). I don't use this as his leash connect because he has broken clips this way in the past.. but it has held up running in dense trees, snow and playing with other dogs. I wouldn't recommend leaving it on full time though. Especially if your dog is a chewer.. despite wear durability, the battery is vulnerable to teeth. His neck comes in at 22in.. so I went with the XL so the light would go all the way around. It's a bit big but works well. I really like that this collar adjusts OVER the light so that can happen. Hasn't caused any issues yet. Sou that's a plus. (*Edit: eventually the XL did come off in the woods, so I got the next one in L. Fits much better and not to different light coverage wise. Still no issues with broken wires or failing LEDs due to adjusting like some of the other brands.) The main reason for purchase was the waterproof guarantee. If there's a mud puddle in the trail, my dog lays in it. Any water or snow, he is rolling in it. The reason for the 4 star 'durability' would be because the little rubber tab started tearing in the middle right off the bat. Being so small, opening and closing just for charging broke it. My fix: wrap electrical tape around it. Good to go. (*Edit: electrical tape solution held up. Minor annoyance, but still survived a stream submersion!) Look to update this as time goes on. Right now though, it is standing up to the challenge! Fingers crossed. Overall update: over a year! It's survived all seasons, mountain excursions, steam submersion and dog playtime. Great purchase. Bought 2 more for back up. Love the green visibility day or night. The black and white is stylish in the day and super bright at night. Both great choices Overall, would recommend. Good purchase for the price!! Has performed above and beyond comparable products.

Ordered two of these and one works great but the other one doesn’t work at all. I have ordered these before and had no issues but the one that doesn’t work is disappointing.

I installed this fence and began using the collar on my dog just two days ago, and I have encountered a serious issue. This afternoon, we experienced an unexpected power outage. When the power came back on, my dog immediately started screaming. I quickly realized her collar was shocking her. It took me a few seconds to figure out what was happening and remove it. It turns out that the wall controller automatically resets to the default setting of 33 when the power is restored, which is the highest level. With this system, a higher number means a more restricted area. My backyard is quite narrow, about 24 feet from the back door, so even though my dog was inside at the time, the collar mistakenly identified her as being outside her allowed zone and delivered, not just one shock, but a continuous shock until I was able to remove the collar. This seems to be a significant manufacturing flaw. I can't help but worry what could have happened if I hadn't been home. I'm really upset just thinking about it. Unfortunately, I received this system as a Christmas gift and only recently installed it, so my support window has expired; otherwise, I would have requested a refund. --- Feel free to adjust any parts or add more details as you see fit!

I purchased a kit of two electric dog fence collars along with an additional collar for my three dogs. While the system overall works well to keep the dogs from digging in the planters, I’ve noticed some issues with the extra collar. The Red light stopped blinking when charging, but it still seemed to charge since the Green light worked when switched on. Additionally, the plastic housing of the collar isn’t sturdy enough—it cracked loose from the belt, likely from rough play with my other dogs. The system itself is effective and does what it’s supposed to, but the durability of the collars could be improved. These collars should be made with tougher materials to withstand the playful nature of dogs. Otherwise, it’s a good product for keeping dogs within boundaries.

I was a bit apprehensive about getting this for my dog as he kept running out our front door and down the block any chance the door opened but I didn't want to get anything that might cause him any kind of harm but boy am I glad I purchased this. It was fairly easy to install and it has helped tremendously with keeping him in our yard so we no longer have to worry about him getting hurt or about hour long chases around town. Very pleased with the performance and wish I had purchased sooner!

Main unit works great, but wire is thin and seems to be a favorite snack for moles and armadillo. Would recommend upgrading to thicker wire after a few months.

I initially wrote a review about how bright these collars are and gave them 5 stars. I bought 3 last August and one of them stopped lighting up. Then I bought three more in December and one stopped lighting up just two months later. The collars have a ONE YEAR WARRANTY. Save your paperwork in case something goes wrong. Dealing with the Masbrill Company customer service was not only frustrating but I got lectured about how I probably was not using the collars correctly. They did eventually replace both of the broken collars after many back and forth emails. I will find a company that makes the same collars in the USA.

We have had many of these over the years but our dog has not been harmed by this device, he responds immediately when we beep, he doesn't get angry, he just pays attention to our requests without getting upset. Our main request was longer battery life. Thankfully, it fulfills my request. We have a large backyard and it's great to be able to cover the entire area!
