You get what you pay for, it's not perfect but does what it's meant to do. Filter is definitely cheap, seems thin. The tube is aluminum, and suggest you clean out the inside of it because of the metal shavings. There are no instructions, if you need them just YouTube this product.     • Not the thickest filter material. Slight performance enhancement at higher RPM.
So, compared to a K&N filter, this filter material is a lot thinner and lighter duty. This does mean it probably lets more air in, but it also may mean that it will filter less. Just something to mention right off the bat. The kit itself is quality with a thick intake metal intake pipe, thick coupling, and metal heat shield. The clamps included, however, are cheap quality and would recommend using better ones. I had 2 strip just from installing it without even using a quick drill. As far as performance, there is an enhancement in the higher RPMs in the engine noise and slightly more throttle response up there as well. The engine does have a tiny bit more throat compared to a stock using this intake and filter. This fit in a '04 Tahoe but keep in mind, if you are converting from stock, you will have to deal with the intake sensor and removing the stock heat shield. I was able to leave the intake sensor inline with this kit just fine with the included tubing and the stock clamp. Overall, it took around 20-25 mins to swap from stock. The only thing I'm skeptical on is the filtration material itself since it's not the same as my old K&N, which was a lot heavier and robust. Im not sure how good the filtration performance is on that end so I'm not sure how long i'll leave this installed since there is a lot of dust and construction going on in my area at the moment. I think with this is a trade off of performance vs filtration but that is only speculation since there is no performance documentation I could find. It is pretty cool hearing my engine sound and feel slightly different just from installing this kit though! And for the price, I think this is absolutely worth looking into or even trying in my opinion but, I would also become familiar with the more known brands just so you understand the differences as far as filter material and overall robustness of a washable filter. ... show more

missing gaskets and straps. Was able to get it to fit with my old ones. No directions and not easy to find any either. Works well adn as it should though

    • Increased intake sound and slight power gains
The Marsflex cold air intake is a great budget kit for those who have experience working on their own vehicles. This kit does not come with any instructions, but I found and followed the install of a similar kit online. Would be nice to know if this is a dry filter or oiled filter. It smelled like oil but a lot of new parts do. No mention of this on the product page. Replacement filters can be found on Amazon. Before starting, remove the negative terminal from your battery (some MAFs are touchy). First you want to remove your old air tube and box. Then remove the plate that the air box clips into. Clean the outer diameter of the throttle body and remove the MAF from the air tube. I used MAF cleaner spray to clean the whole MAF. I also removed the MAF seal and hose clamp and washed them. Had some trouble installing the new heat shield. It aligned with the third mounting hole only after some bending and adjustment of the three assembly screws. Once the heat shield is in place, the intake tube is installed to the throttle body with the 4 inch 90 degree coupler. The other side of the intake tube is attached to the heat shield with the rubber vibration mount. A plastic radiator hose clip snaps into the middle arm on the tube. Next, mount the MAF to the intake tube with the short 4 inch coupler. Finally, mount the filter to the reducer and the reducer to the MAF. Tighten everything down. Once everything was installed in my 2005 Silverado, I noticed much more intake noise and a slight power increase. ... show more

    • Heavy-Duty Performance on a Budget
The Marsflex 4" Cold Air Intake Kit is built like a tank with an intake tube that’s almost overkill in its thickness. The aluminum construction is impressively robust. The hose couplers are made of cheap rubber, which is pretty standard for the price range, and the hose clamps do their job adequately. The routing isn’t ideal, with two bends right before the throttle body, and you lose some heat barrier efficiency since the kit just lays on the heat shield, unlike the K&N. However, for the price, this kit is a steal. If you want to upgrade later, you can easily swap in a real K&N filter or wall off over the filter adapter to make it more K&N style. It’s a versatile DIY kit with plenty of parts that let you go simple or custom. Overall, a well done kit for those looking to boost performance without breaking the bank. ... show more

I figured I'd give this intake kit a try on my 2004 Chevrolet Silverado Z71, it's purely a farm truck and use it for plowing snow in the winter time. The intake came with no instructions, but I was able to figure it out pretty easily based on the pictures and mocking it up on the vehicle. Started by removing the old air intake system, including a steel plate below the old air box. The heat shields didn't fit properly without removing this plate, and it allows you to draw a lot of air from below. Overall this kit is pretty nice for the price, and fitment is pretty good too. I do wish the filter was an inch or two shorter, as it fits pretty tightly against the inner fender, but I can't complain too much for the price. Also the intake pipe did have some scratches, so I would not recommend this if you're worried about looks. ... show more
