  • Very Good Bench!
Color: Black
After carefully reading the reviews and the questions/answers, I went ahead and purchased 3 of these. To start with, the shipping and condition of the product was perfect and on time with no damage/missing parts. Assembly of the bench was done by myself in about 30 minutes just taking my time. All of the hardware was labeled on a cardboard and plastic wrapped sheet. The numbers were very clear and easy to read. The directions for assembly are Very Easy to follow and that was a pleasant surprise! Tools do come with the hardware but you will need a crescent wrench to secure the locking nuts correctly. A nut driver also helps when you are trying to attach the cushions to the bench. Overall, this is a breeze to put together and I did it by myself. If you are not so mechanically inclined, a second person can come in handy to balance things out while you attach them. After the bench was completely assembled, I had a few concerns based on the other reviews: 1. The leg extension portion is NOT easily removable. It is attached with a nylon lock nut and would have to be unscrewed to remove it. Once you remove it, the mount is still sticking up and the mount is NOT removable. I am certain it could be modified to accept a pin, but with the mount still there, it does not make a big difference to me. 2. One thing I read in the other reviews was that the bench did not lay flat. Mine did. I put a level on it and it also showed it to be flat. 3. Bench felt wobbly. I put an empty 7' Olympic bar on it and the bar rack felt like it was a little wobbly. I then started adding weight. As soon as I put weight on the bar, the wobble was gone. 4. Seat felt uneven/thin. I also tested how secure the seat was. I put 205 pounds on the bar and cranked out 3 sets and the bench felt perfectly stable. The cushion did not feel too thin at all. It was comfortable! Regarding other comments: I would recommend using nothing less than a 7' bar. It fits perfect! This bench is Not Safe For Squats and it is Not Designed For Squats! I am 5'8" tall. The bench height felt perfect and the weight rack adjusts well for my inclines as well! Overall: I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this Bench! For the money, it just can't be beat!!! I did notice that the dates on some of the reviews are pretty old so maybe they fixed a lot of those issues. I will edit this post after I've used it for a few months! Here's the edit! Apologies for taking so long. I still like the stability of the bench when I am doing presses. But the leg attachment is 100% useless! If you add more then 50 lbs to the extension, the bench will come off the ground. If you put 100 lbs, you need to have somebody hold it down or you need to keep the bar on it with weights. Do not use this as a hard core leg trainer! As for the bench itself, I think it's a great entry level product and the price is right. If you are already benching more than 250 regularly, please consider going a step up! ... show more

  • Good Beginner Bench
Color: Black
Just to add this is my first bench but I would say that it seems good for someone who is just starting out, especially if they happen to be on the heavier side like myself. It took maybe two hours to put together and it did require someone else's help however I think once I had the frame together it could have been done alone. Overall the bench feels sturdy, and I was able to perform my presses quite well. As a note you can possibly Squat from this bench if the rack is extended to the full height. For me at around 5'10" it comes up to my chest but someone who is shorter it would be even easier. Other than wishing I had another height notch to add or even better the ability to have the rack turned to the back I'd say it's a good bench. Easy to move but expect to require a decent sized space before you purchase it. Just to add though while it says on the item page that it's a 600 lb capacity weight bench, the manual will say it's a 300 lb user weight limit. I myself weigh more than this but if you're big like me I think it should work out fine. Edit as of 03/13: Alright! Well the bench is still as good as ever, especially with me losing a lot of weight between lifting and changing my eating habits. However there is one thing that is very detrimental. It's difficult to try and squat using this, for some obvious reasons. The direction the rack poles are facing can make getting the bar on and off awkward, and the pole design itself is incredibly flimsy looking, tilting noticeably when loaded up to 185lbs. Worst of all is that for someone of my height, 5'10", it just doesn't feel safe trying to squat since you have to half-squat just to get under the bar. Final Verdict: Good for everything you need to do EXCEPT squatting. ... show more

  • Great quality, excellent customer service!!!!
Color: Black
OK so I was in the market for a new weight bench. I needed one that could hold support my 5'8 x 232 LB frame plus weights. I was hesitant to purchase a bench without first trying it out. I did some research and this had the 600 lb weight limit I needed and good reviews. It also has a very wide space to put the weight bar. I received it with all the parts and was very easy to put together. It came with allen wrenches but you'll need a socket wrench and sockets to speed up assembly. I purchased the "Cap Barbell Weight Bar Standard 72-Inch Threaded Bar" and it fits perfectly on this bench. It gives me enough room to lay down with out hitting my head on the bar and it gives me plenty of room to do my butterflies with my dumbells. The leg assembly is very nice as well. The leg assembly has an additional spacer for olympic weights and comes with a clampt to keep the weights on the post. The bench is very sturdy, if put together properly. The powder coating was nice so we will see how it holds up after a year of use. As with all benches the seat is wide enough to lay down on and does make you balance yourself when lifting. (This helps my core so that is always good) I did have an area on the seat that was not stapled but since I had a staple gun and staples, the repair was simple. Other than that little quality issue, this is an excellent bench that far exceeded my expectations. I bought the Cap Barbell Weight Bar Standard 72-Inch Threaded Bar and it is a perfect combo. Update: 8/7/19 Barbell and bench work great and very sturdy. I recently emailed MarcyPro using the request form on their website to see how much it would be to replace the seat pad, backrest board, and foam rolls. Mind you I bought this in 2012. I received an email 24hrs later with the UPS confirmation that they were emailing me the new parts for FREE!!!! I got them and now my weight bench is like new. Great customer service!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ... show more
