I originally got this machine with missing components in the box which caused me to give it one star. Amazon's Customer Service was so awesome that when I told them of what happened, they sent me a whole new package and didn't charge me a dime. The second time around things worked out great. All the parts were included and I put the whole thing together in about an hour or so. I am now very happy with this purchase. This is a very solid well made piece of equipment. Cast iron parts are heavy and sturdy. Assembly was really super easy and that's always a big plus. The bench adjusts from flat to incline to decline. Decline feels a little flat (I like deep decline) but for the money its still a solid layout. You can hit various muscle groups with this 4 position setup. It feels very solid. Doesn't shake or move even when benching with 150 lb or more. The pad is very thin though and looks to be made of cheap plywood so that's a con. Another con is that the horizontal weight stabilizer bars are positioned a little too close to the head end of the bench.When lying down, watch your head carefully, if you do not bend it slightly down you WILL hit your noggin. It was obviously made with someone in the shorter category in mind because my g/f who is 5'9 also works out with me and doesn't have this issue. But alas you can't have everything, right? Overall I'm very pleased with this machine, especially for the money. The addition of the vertical bar exerciser is great as you can do back rows and leg lifts which adds several exercises to any routine. 5 stars despite the cheap seat. OK so I was in the market for a new weight bench. I needed one that could hold support my 5'8 x 232 LB frame plus weights. I was hesitant to purchase a bench without first trying it out. I did some research and this had the 600 lb weight limit I needed and good reviews. It also has a very wide space to put the weight bar. I received it with all the parts and was very easy to put together. It came with allen wrenches but you'll need a socket wrench and sockets to speed up assembly. I purchased the "Cap Barbell Weight Bar Standard 72-Inch Threaded Bar" and it fits perfectly on this bench. It gives me enough room to lay down with out hitting my head on the bar and it gives me plenty of room to do my butterflies with my dumbells. The leg assembly is very nice as well. The leg assembly has an additional spacer for olympic weights and comes with a clampt to keep the weights on the post. The bench is very sturdy, if put together properly. The powder coating was nice so we will see how it holds up after a year of use. As with all benches the seat is wide enough to lay down on and does make you balance yourself when lifting. (This helps my core so that is always good) I did have an area on the seat that was not stapled but since I had a staple gun and staples, the repair was simple. Other than that little quality issue, this is an excellent bench that far exceeded my expectations. I bought the Cap Barbell Weight Bar Standard 72-Inch Threaded Bar and it is a perfect combo. Update: 8/7/19 Barbell and bench work great and very sturdy. I recently emailed MarcyPro using the request form on their website to see how much it would be to replace the seat pad, backrest board, and foam rolls. Mind you I bought this in 2012. I received an email 24hrs later with the UPS confirmation that they were emailing me the new parts for FREE!!!! I got them and now my weight bench is like new. Before purchasing this bench, I took into account my intent in using it, i.e. primarily for bench work with some incline and some leg work and not going more than 250 pounds in the long run. I am 5' 10" and 160 pounds. Desire is to develop tone with some strength behind it all. Pros: Assembly was easy. Bench is performing within my expectations considering the low cost. Finish was well done and the bench padding is very comfortable for me. Some previous reviews complained about the lack of padding. Cons: Somewhat flimsy in strength, but meets well within my expectations and cost. If you are seriously looking at strength building and heavy weight use over 250 pounds, I would look for something stronger (this bench is rated for 300 pounds). Also, I noted previous reviews mentioning that their leg length in using the leg press was a problem as their foot/feet would drag on the ground. I barely touch the floor, so if you have longer legs or are taller, you might want to look at something bigger than this bench. I used the 72-inch Cap barbell and it fit well with this bench. Overall I am satisfied with this purchase and have no regrets with it. Only reason for four instead of five stars is the somewhat flimsy build. ... show more
