I'm amending my original 3 star review, now 5 stars. I took several peoples suggestions and left the rubber-backed runner out in the sun for two days. I spritzed the entire rubber backing with vinegar (twice) to neutralize the weird smell. There remains only the faint smell of rubber and that is to be expected. This is now perfect!! First let me say that I like the pattern and the colors go well with my decor, it looks exactly like the photo in the listing. It is thin with a rubber backing which helps avoid tripping and so will work well in the hallway. PAY CLOSE ATTENTION TO THE REVIEWS THAT MENTION THE HORRIBLE SMELL!!! I told my husband when it arrived that it smells like the Zoo. It would appear that the odor is coming from the rubber backing. I'm going to try leaving it out in the sun for a few days, then run the carpet cleaner over it, hopefully that will help. ... show more

Great machine washable rug. I machine washed this rug several times in my front loader which has no agitator. It had to be on spin twice to get the water out but dried on low in my dryer easily.

These are nice quality rugs for the money. We have cats and dogs and regardless of how much you brush them, there is still some fallout. These rugs are easy to vacuum and throw in the washer when necessary. The color scheme does a great job of disguising any mess in the meantime.

Looks really good on my beige/gray tile, and the doors open easily over it. Lays flat and does not move around. Handles shoe and paw traffic well and vacuums clean. Was delivered in a timely manner. I got some of these as scatter rugs so my old dog has at some places where she doesn't skid around on the hard floors. These have a grippy latex backing, which I like so that I don't have to deal with a separate non-skid pad. They are soft and look nice, and because said old dog occasionally thinks they're great to pee on, I appreciate that I can run them through a washing and they come out nice again. (Not sure I'd recommend machine drying except on very very low heat.) . If you find them on sale, they're an especially good buy. ... show more
