I first purchased the beige background of this rug, and it was slightly defective and too light for my floor. I exchanged it for the dark gray background, and we love it! It fits in front of the cabinets and dishwasher to catch any water, food prep bits, and general dirt. It doesn't show dirt at all with the darker background, it stays flat and doesn't slide at all, and it's easy to clean up small spots, or throw it in the washer when the whole thing needs to be cleaned. If you need a rug that is machine washable this is the one for you. Some rugs that say they can be put in a washer are really too stiff and done scrunch up to fit. This one has a rubber backing that is pliable. Washed and dried perfectly. I have a senior dog with bladder issues and she occasionally can't hold it in. It's a perfect rug for pets. The colours are not as light/pale as they appear in the photo but the rug is still beautiful. Based on the photo I expected a pale aqua and lighter brown shades, however the rug is a light tan colour, the aqua is a darker shade of teal and the browns are much darker. Forgive the mess, should have taken pictures before Thanksgiving meal prep. These made me happy right out of the box! Colors are great for my space, they adhere to the floor and stay in place. They are washable which is a plus, but I haven’t washed them yet. Probably need it now lol. I’ve never put a rug in the kitchen before and I LOVE IT! We do a lot in our kitchen and it’s always dirty in front of the island. This helps greatly to just shake crumbs off outside. The kitchen rug is showing wear from the constant foot traffic so I imagine it will need replaced annually, we shall see. But at this price point I am still tickled with this amazon purchase and will continue to buy these over the ugly Costco options I’ve been buying. They are nice and soft on the feet. Wow! This rug is amazing! High quality, comfortable to walk on, skid resistant, lays down flat, true to size. Item exactly as described! I ordered 2 and then had to order a third! 2x10 and 2x7s.
