Okay. So I used one jar and the first photo is how it came out the first time but I didn’t read instructions. You’re supposed to use a plastic cap and have it over your hair for atleast 30 minutes. So I waited a day and went back over it focusing on everything but the roots and did roots last, and the second time around it was almost perfect. I say almost and give 4 starts because since my hair was bleached, some spots on my scalp which aren’t too noticeable are silver, because the dye acted as a toner in those areas but it actually does not look bad. this is VERY bright. I have heard from people that have used other manic panic colors that the color hardly showed up. I have dirty blonde hair and this was BRIGHT purple. this also has lasted three weeks through washing my hair three times a week. While the color has faded it is still very much there. This is probably a positive for most people but i really wanted a more temporary look. If you do not want purple hair for a month or longer, do not use! So this definitely isn’t the color it says it is. I’ve been using Violet Night for quite a few months now. I decided to buy these because they were the better deal than the bottles for the same amount of product. Upon pouring it into my mixing bowl I immediately noticed a significant color change. It had a more red tone. It honestly looks like Plum Passion or Purple Haze labeled as Violet Night. As you can see in the photos there are two very different shades of purple. The left being “VN” and the right being the actual VN. Luckily for me I had some Poseidon blue from Arctic Fox left over to cool it down as I was applying it. ... show more

Wanted purple hair so bad. I tried Manic Panic Violet Night and I absolutely love it. I put it on my hair and left it under a shower cap for 3 hours and the results were great. No damage to my hair, and looks great. Will definitely be trying other colors. I am thinking blue or green for next time.

Not a fan. The color came through okay. Not super vibrant, but it was on my daughter’s brown hair, so we were expecting that. It smelt unpleasant, and completely washed out after the first wash. Even after using a color sealing conditioner and cold water only. Waste of time, effort, and money.
