Description

Does MANGMI Pocket Max come with preloaded games? No, MANGMI Pocket Max is an open Android handheld with no pre-installed games. The Pocket Max is an open Android handheld device. It is capable of running software available on the Android platform. Can I connect Pocket Max to a TV or use an external controller? Yes! Pocket Max supports video output via USB-C (adapter not included) and works with Bluetooth controllers. For a home console experience, you can connect to a TV and pair a compatible controller. Why is this more expensive than handhelds with newer chips like Snapdragon 8 Gen 2? Value is the full experience, not chip numbers. The Snapdragon 865 runs all classic titles smoothly (no overheating) and pairs perfectly with our 144Hz AMOLED—a screen rivals lack at this price. You pay for a cooler, smoother, ready-to-game device. How does the battery life compare to other handhelds? It lasts! The massive 8000mAh battery gives you 6-8 hours of gameplay. Plus, 27W fast charging gets you back in action quickly. No more charging every few hours like those smaller 5000mAh devices. Do the controls drift over time? No drift here. We use premium Hall Effect joysticks and triggers. Unlike cheap carbon sticks, these use magnets (no physical wear), ensuring years of precise, drift-free gaming. Perfect for racers and FPS.

  • Awesome gaming device
Color: Black
This thing ia top notch, super responsive and beautiful looking. I know its just a tablet in game controller form but revivals the other well known gaming decks that are in the market. It was so simple to use to play my steam games on my PC. In case you were wondering how, this device uses your PC to start the game yet the controls and display/audio is cast to this gaming device. The joystick controls are super smooth and responsive. Battery life is amazing but easy to charge with USB-C. Watching YouTube is juat like watching on a pc. ... show more

  • Modern handheld that brings back my childhood gaming memories
Color: Black
I got this mostly for nostalgia more than anything. I grew up playing games like Pokémon Red, Blue, Yellow and Oregon Trail, but going back and trying to collect original systems and games now just is not realistic. The prices are kind of absurd, like you are basically looking at what feels like a car payment just to relive that experience. So this made more sense to me as a way to just have access to those kinds of games without dealing with all that. Setup was actually pretty quick. It only took a few minutes. You sign in with Gmail, connect to WiFi, run a couple updates and then you are basically ready to start playing. Most of the time I am using it on breaks when I am sitting around waiting on 4K renders. I just pick it up and mess around with retro games during that downtime. There are definitely a lot of buttons. Way more than I am used to especially coming from simpler handhelds. That part took a bit of adjusting. I did have to look up a bit on how to use the emulators. Growing up around tech made it easier to figure it out, but it was not completely obvious at first. It was more just learning how the Android side of it works. I have used Android before, then switched to iOS for a while, and now I kind of use both, so it was not a huge barrier, just a bit of a learning curve. It has been pretty reliable so far. No real issues with it just working. The cheat system is a little weird though. I am still not really used to it. It is nothing like the old Game Boy GameShark setup, so there is definitely a learning curve there. Also it feels wider than what I am used to from older handhelds like the Game Boy. Holding it just feels different in the hands. Not bad, just something I had to adjust to. The remote workstation control is kind of a mixed bag for me. It works, but using the joystick as a mouse is honestly pretty difficult. I am still getting used to it and it is not something I move through quickly or comfortably yet. My better half actually uses it too, which I did not really expect. That alone makes it get picked up more than I thought it would. To be fair and honest, I am sure there are tons more options out there, but this really fits my needs. It feels like something I would actually get for a friend or someone close as a gift. If anything, it is probably best suited for someone who is already a little comfortable with Android style devices or does not mind a small learning curve. If you want something extremely simple and plug and play, this might take a bit of getting used to at first. Boy do I miss the 90's. ... show more

  • False Advertising
Color: Retro White
Comes with zero games installed. Advertised like it does, have to read the fine print. Almost every game I download through google olay store has some sort of use ability issue. Most don’t recognize it as a controller and don’t work. Also significantly more expensive than ordering directly from supplier. ... show more

I recently got my hands on the MANGMI Pocket Max Android Handheld Gaming Console, and I am absolutely blown away! This device is a game-changer for both retro and modern gaming enthusiasts. First off, the Snapdragon 865 processor ensures lightning-fast performance, making gameplay smooth and enjoyable. The 7" 144Hz AMOLED display is stunning, providing vibrant colors and sharp visuals that elevate the gaming experience. Whether I’m diving into retro classics or the latest Android titles, everything looks amazing! The 8GB RAM and 128GB storage capacity are more than sufficient for all my gaming needs. Plus, the RGB hall sticks provide precise control, making it easy to navigate and play games comfortably for hours. Speaking of hours, the 8000mAh battery life is incredible! I can game for extended periods without worrying about recharging. I also appreciate the inclusion of WiFi 6 and USB 3.1, which enhance connectivity for cloud and PC gaming. The MANGMI Pocket Max truly bridges the gap between handheld and console gaming, and with Android 13, I have access to a vast library of games. • So much fun, you will probably need to take a sick day.
Color: Black
The Mangmi Pocket Max is a very impressive Android handheld. The first thing that grabs your attention is the gorgeous 7-inch 1080p 144Hz AMOLED display. It is bright, vibrant, and honestly kind of ridiculous in the best way possible. Retro games, Android games, and even menus all look fantastic on it. This screen deserves a standing ovation. The ergonomics are another huge win. I have large hands, and I usually get uncomfortable pretty quickly using handhelds like the Nintendo Switch in portable mode. That was not the case here. The Pocket Max feels natural to hold, even during longer gaming sessions. The stick placement, buttons, shoulder buttons, and analog triggers all feel like they were put exactly where your hands expect them to be. The device is also absolutely gorgeous to look at. Performance is very good thanks to the Snapdragon 865 processor, 8GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage. There is also a microSD card slot for expansion, so storage should not be an issue unless you decide to archive the entire history of gaming. Emulation performance has been excellent overall. PSP, N64, GameCube, PS1 & Wii games run very well. PS2 games are definitely playable too. More demanding PS2 titles can slow down during heavier scenes, but it was usually minor. I was able to play God of War 2 at 1080p and 60 FPS. The battery life has also been excellent. I had no issues playing for extended sessions, and fast charging makes it easy to quickly top it off when needed. Having access to the Google Play Store is another big advantage since you can also play regular Android games and all the amazing fan made ports alongside emulators. Now for the criticisms. The biggest issue is the price. This is a very nice handheld, but it sits in a tough spot compared to competitors like the AYN Odin 2 Portal and the Retroid Pocket 6. Both offer newer Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chips with Adreno 740 GPUs and noticeably more performance for similar ot less money. I also think a screen protector and case should have been included in the box at this price point. This is not a cheap handheld, and most people are probably going to want both accessories immediately anyway. Overall, I am very happy with the Mangmi Pocket Max. It looks fantastic, feels great in the hand, and handles a huge library of games surprisingly well. I can already tell I will spend a lot of hours with it, assuming my son does not “borrow” it permanently first. The only real drawbacks are the price and the lack of included accessories, which may leave some buyers wishing for a little more value for the money. ... show more

  • Great product
Color: Black
This handheld gaming console is impressive for the price and feels much more premium than I expected. The 7 inch 144Hz AMOLED display is the star of the show, delivering vibrant colors, deep blacks, and very smooth gameplay. The Snapdragon 865 processor, 8GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage provide plenty of performance for Android gaming, emulation, and cloud gaming. What stood out most was the overall build quality. The Hall effect sticks feel accurate and responsive, the controls are comfortable for longer sessions, and the active cooling system helps maintain performance during extended play. The large 8000mAh battery also provides plenty of runtime, making it a great travel companion. Overall, this is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a powerful Android handheld. The combination of a high refresh rate AMOLED screen, strong performance, good battery life, and premium controls makes it feel like a much more expensive device than it is. ... show more

  • Absolutely beyond my expectation
Color: Black
The quality of this game machine is really very good, and its feel does not lose the mainstream brand at all. The screen is very, very good, its display is clear and there is little delay. The whole machine and the operation of the game are also very excellent. There is no issue in the manipulation and sensitivity of the buttons. Different softwares have been installed on the machine, which allows you to finish all kinds of games faster. In addition, its battery is very good and it also supports fast charging. I highly recommend this machine. ... show more

  • Overall quality & nicely put together - Slightly overpriced - Learning curve - Needs more extras
Color: Black
Overall quality and nicely put together. Great screen, battery life is decent so far, fairly quick charging. It's not exactly turn on and play. I'm old, so I took it to a game stop style place to help me get it set up and for some tips and tricks. There is a learning curve with the software and the controls if you're not used to devices like this. I had to buy a screen protector online and hope it was the right size because they don't sell screen protectors specifically for this unit. For the price, they should include a few screen protectors and a good case. I was told the price is not exactly competitive for what's out there, so it's hard to say it's a good value - but it is good overall. Durability is of course an unknown, but if anything fails prematurely, this review will be updated. ... show more
