This is a fantastic trench coat. It's flattering, good in the rain as opposed to my typical sweat shirt or more porous jacket. It's well made and sturdy it has really nice buttons and a tie and it's short so it's nice if you're in a longer dress that's a little puffy. I do have a longer one similar to this and it's straight down so it can make it a little harder to move so this short one is great. ... show more

This is my first black Trench Coat and I love it. It is comfortable, lightweight, and very flattering. It fits comfortably over a nice outfit. It can be worn buttoned up or open and still looks classy.

This is a (would-be) perfect light-to-medium weight coat. It has decent lining and although it is not a rain coat, it seems like it could handle the elements will without getting soaked. Decent lining for the low price. **Concerning the "substantial quirk" I mentioned** Look at the retailer's photos very carefully and look at ALL of them. Its not obvious in the first couple photos but this coat has an asymmetrical "flap" over one side of the chest. Meaning, there is a flap on just ONE SIDE. This is strange. The coats I've had previously either have a flap on BOTH sides or none at all. They decided to put a flap on just one side? Kind of strange. I wonder what the rational was behind this? This missing flap is hidden under the model's long hair, so its not easy to catch. Its also hard to see in black/dark colors. I'm attaching a blown up picture of the same model but in one of the pictures toward the bottom. Flap is on the left side of chest but not on right (as you look at the photo). Almost took off 2 stars for this 'flap issue' and the fact that the retailer should have made this more obvious. I decided not to be so harsh because I liked everything else about the coat. I may just cut of the weird illogical flap and hope for the best. If it turns out well, I'll upload a photo of that too. SIZING: Its about sized as expected. Maybe a tad small in shoulders relative to the body. I'm typically either a small or a medium and I think medium was the right call for me (5'8" 125 lbs). ... show more
