  • Very reliable demolition hammer
I purchased this model a year ago, and I've used it for hard rock mining exclusively. Unlike my more expensive Hilti hammer drills and demolition hammers, this has a basic impact force control whereby you apply pressure to the handle to increase the impact frequency. It's not perfect, but it does afford some control when working around fragile mineral specimens. In addition, their wall hammers do have speed control dials that allow for precise frequency control over impaction, again, unlike Hilti which offers no speed controls. The only negative is the Makita brand chisel bits. They break frequently. I broke 2 and a friend broke another 4. I switched to Bosch bits and no breakage has occurred to date. This is a relatively inexpensive tool that is sturdy and if it holds up against hard rock, it will be great for concrete. ... show more
