  • Good stand, just one problem
I mostly use this to light the area I'm working for electrical projects at a desk, some simple wood working and honestly to set up lighting for a nice picture if I want occasionally. It's a good sturdy stand for the makita lights. Supports both lights nicely and safely. I can point the lights anywhere I want with little hassle. Also one feature I didn't notice/expect is that the top portion comes off and has a hook to hang both the lights from. I haven't used it to light anything that way, but it is nice for storage. Fold the stand and "shrink" it and hang the top light assembly out of the way. My only complaint is the knob lock(?) system to secure the legs. The second I took it out of the box I knew that specific feature wasn't going to work for me. I'm not about to pull out pliers EVERY time I want to use this thing to have it nice and firm. I immediately put it at the very bottom so the legs are fully extended and then drilled a hole in the tube so the threads/bolt can go into the tube and truly "lock" the legs in place. Works MUCH better than the tighten-until-your-hand-hurts-&-hope-it's-good-enough method. The legs might slip if you didn't and the bolt on the knob will scratch the tube. Should you have to modify a brand new product to make it better? No. Is it something that should keep you from buying this stand if you already have the makita lights? Hell no! I'm not opposed to simple fixes like this, although makita should consider doing this from the factory. That one hole would make this an excellent product out of the box. All in all, mines perfect now with this modification done and I'm very happy with the product. ... show more

  • Missing part!
I swear the quality of makita products are going down hill! This is the second product I’ve purchased in a week that was missing a part! It must’ve fell off during assembly because the other 2 legs had the washer in place. The first product I bought was the 10” 36v miter saw and it was missing a needed washer! Also this does not fit the DML811 perfectly too! ... show more

  • It’s ok
